I think the ST* indexes as a whole should have gone down more compared to SP, but maybe I am biased!

Sorry Don!
The car for the class is not the one made in 1958!!! Unless the powers that be wake up and change the weights to the road race weights!!
Therefore, when I grow up or win the lottery, I'm moving to DM with a turbo 1.4 something!

Re: 2011 pax
I updated my Charts showing PAX over the years, use the tabs at the bottom to see the classes closer:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key ... hbUE&hl=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This is actually my favorite way to see the changes in pax, you map them vs a floating average as 1. That way you can see which classes moved where vs the average:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key ... Scmc&hl=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Ones again, use the tabs to see things closer, if those links don't work you can use these:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key ... utput=html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and
https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key ... utput=html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key ... hbUE&hl=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you would have put this much effort into work today maybe Jennifer would have had a computer to use.Aaron Goldsmith wrote:I updated my Charts showing PAX over the years, use the tabs at the bottom to see the classes closer:

Re: 2011 pax
Aaron thank you for all the hard work.
Looks like BSP is going to harder next year than this year, I am afraid my old C4 is just badly out classed. Then again with the rules lumping all C4's in the same group I am at a disadvantage as the last year had 80+ hp on me, much less competing against the EVO's etc.
Then again, you don't see many people run in BSP where I am, all those that can seem to want to run either PAX or ladies.
I have to be honest I am not nearly good enough for it to matter.

That's the beauty of SP, you can update to that extra 80hp engine.Arthur Grant wrote:Then again with the rules lumping all C4's in the same group I am at a disadvantage as the last year had 80+ hp on me.

Re: 2011 pax
Is that any harder a way to score a win than running against some mathimatically derived value if I run alone. Well I am highly unlike to beat you unless you drink a lot or break, it's fun to run against a bench mark. The closer I get the better I know I am getting? If you need some trophies you could come over and play in BSP.Marshall Grice wrote:do you really want me to run BSP with you?Arthur Grant wrote:Aaron thank you for all the hard work.

No if I wanted to do that I would just buy a C5.Eric Clements wrote:That's the beauty of SP, you can update to that extra 80hp engine.Arthur Grant wrote:Then again with the rules lumping all C4's in the same group I am at a disadvantage as the last year had 80+ hp on me.

Heck, now that Rick has taken away much of the "Strano pax" in FS, looks like I'm going to have to go back to my old standby "dang Miata courses" as an excuse for local Index class fale. Actually, thinking this through, maybe now we'll see more FS cars out of "pax crazy" SoCal?
To be honest, the two adjustments I can't make any sense of are SS and BS...for exactly opposite reasons.

Re: 2011 pax
Tell me about it. According to Rick Ruth, an ASP Corvette is only .30 faster than a SS Z06 on a 60 second course, Tom Berry only needs to beat SS by .12 in the Evo, and CSP is basically heads up. Seriously? So, take the SS Z06, add 70+ rwhp, 315/335 tires on 12/13" inch wheels, double the spring rate, lower it an inch, and drop 150 pounds = .30 seconds???Michael Wood wrote:.....To be honest, the two adjustments I can't make any sense of are SS and BS...for exactly opposite reasons.
Gimme a break. There is certainly no reason to ever run an SS car in PAX anymore.

I guess that's kind of similar to the STX guys wondering why they're not faster than ST.
I suppose if you're worried about 2/10th's of a second (or less) keeping you out of the hunt for top Index, then I guess you're right, you should stay home. Of ccourse, if you drive a little blue Lotus......

What's shocking to me is that an ASP Exige S is only .30 faster than a Stock Elise...

well when you take into account all the mechanical DNF's with it's actual times it probably averages out to about .3 faster. }:)Robert Puertas wrote:

Re: 2011 pax
But Rick. In the STX/ST deal, people are saying that STX isn't faster (yet you "made it faster" - and I agree with you!), but the problem I see with the ASP/SS deal is that it seems ridiculous that ASP is so soft - how is it possible that they only have to go 0.3 secs. faster than SS?! Isn't PAX supposed to be the theoretical best driver in the fastest car? No way is ASP only 0.3 secs. faster.Rick Ruth wrote:I guess that's kind of similar to the STX guys wondering why they're not faster than ST.

Re: 2011 pax
How much does a single driver (whether Matthew in the Elise this year or Sammy in the Shelby in '07-'08) influence the pax value?
Just curious, trying to learn the methodology.
