What would method would you choose for a track Miata?

Do SuperCharged engine use an Intercooler? I'm thinking those Super Charger Kits for Miatas. Some advertise that one doesn't need a tune after installing

Not looking for ultimate power, ie. not changing internals ... yet. Just for a nice increase in power

I thought about supercharging my NA Miata, but never quite got to grips with spending as much on the S/C as the car cost me.

Check out Track Dog Racing for kits for the NB. That's where I would have bought my kit, had I decided to cough up the cash.

Intercoolers etc and further upgrades purely depend on how much power you add.

Check with Stanley Kowalski, he runs one mita turbo charged, and one of his mitas super charged. Believe he has a spare super charger set up available.

Max, Bill... I didn't find any forced induction.
All I found were a bunch of those JDM/Drift style shift knobs

There is a long skinny pedal on the right side of the drivers footwell that when substantially depressed for long periods of time around a road course will increase the relative speed of the vehicle.

It costs only increased fuel consumption and tire wear when used appropriately. }:) }:)

those "long periods" aren't long enough in a NA Miata!

btw, our long pedal is now also fat ... added an extension for easier heel and toeing.

We're going out to WSR to see Isley and Royle racing tomorrow

But Sunday should be good----I was going out to see the Sprites beat-up on the new boxes. 7 cars are entered in HP from what I hear and almost an even split between really old (British), almost old (Box Honda, etc) and new (Yaris etc)

I'd venture a guess and say you'll end up spending more money in the long run trying to turbo/super charge the miata then you would just driving the vette for and equivalent amount of performance.

you WILL blow up the motor trying to track a worn out stock motor with huge power adders.

Can you run Isley's Yaris times in the Miata? I doubt the Yaris has very much power.

I tracked with 800hp Vipers. They were stunning on the straights. Thundered by my Neon like I was standing still on the back straight at WSR. Then I rode their tale through 8-9 then they disappeared on the front straight. Who cares. Holding with them in the turns is what its all about.

The Miata we might be charging ... and not until next year's season ... wouldn't be Karen's "old" Miata. }:)

It would be a relatively young, prepared racing Miata with full safety gear/cage. ;) Yeah ... hard to go even 9/10th without the right gear.

Yeah, Yeah ... not going to be comparing myself with Isley. btw. Jason and Philip are overnighting in Lancaster tonight, so that they don't have to deal with going "over" the 14 tomorrow morning.

I would be worried about racing tires in freezing conditions! Not good for that rubber ... besides there being No Way for them to get any heat in those tires. High of 37 tomorrow in Rosamond!?

Ended up being a nice if not cool day at Willow Springs. Nice seeing Philip, Jason, Oli, Renee and the Jardines.
