Um, these aren't legal to run this year...
I thought they aren't legal only until Nationals. After Nationals, they are legal, no?
The point is, they are not legal NOW (don't know about the after nationals thing)!

Illegal all year, unless it meets some other of the allowances:
"13.3 TIRES
B. No tire models will be approved for competition during the rest
of the year after April 30 of each calendar year."

The National Rule book is really only required for national events (Divisionals, Tours and Nationals). But without further allowance we follow SCCA rules for classing.

We're lucky to have someone like Ken who can be the first to test new Kuhmo products locally, and who isn't worried about being protested at a local event. We also benefit from having people that know the rules. ;)

Correction ... it was Kyle that was given the new XS's to test. Ken Who? 8-) :P

totally harmless here james...no gloves here...wilson was asking how they stood up to the current tires, and i just wanted to give him and the readers out there the facts....we all know ken in OUR car can spank us thats and thats without saying....so respect to him and knowledge for all... :D
Oh no, I was totally kidding! Didn't mean anything serious by it.

Although if you'd like revenge, I have a feeling that Frotto Motonishi will be at San Diego with his "cheater: tires. He might even talk Kyle into letting him use the 15s, since Kyle will be in a REAL sports car, and not a Honda generator with wheels.
