Man, that's a lot to digest! I applaud the committees' hard work.

My $.02

Mini JCW to DS: I dunno, sure seems like if the regular Minis weren't on the way out, they are now for sure.

ST*: Awsome! I can't wait to get rid of my rear drum brakes, and get a new cat 6" further downstream.
STF? Hmmm we'll see if anyone makes a serious effort, I have a feeling it will be the car with the most aftermarket support wins until people start going nuts with custom stuff (after a jacket and contingency is on the line).

SP: Who needs a co-driver in their 997? Have trailer, will travel. ;)

They'll definitely be getting a letter from me on this one. Can't imagine I'll be the only one. Seems pretty ludicrous if it's better suspended, has more power and has always run in a higher class than the regular Cooper S. What's next, throw the Justa Cooper in DS as well?

Are the newer JCW's factory-built? I know the first-gen cars were a dealer-installed kit.

Oh, and Elva Courier in SSP? Knife to a gunfight, anyone?

I see that now the rest of ST classes get to enjoy swapping out our exhaust every two years. At least now I can build a better header.

They now need to remove 14.10.F.6, since they've thrown emission compliance out the window.

Yes. But so are the BMW M series, the Audi S series, the AMG Mercedes, etc. They're all tuner cars, and IMO they shouldn't be allowed to compete against the "regular" cars whose performance they were designed and built to exceed in every facet.

I must resist any reference to the words Historic and Vintage.

I Must!

Why bother, it only ends up a "forest and tree" conversation.

I would like to see a Tesla vs Elan.

I would take an '06 "TR" for STX, I still think it needs more wheel though, even if handicapped by 245 section width tires. Although I think the later GD chassis 2.5l cars got a marginally stronger trans, I think one would still have to save pennies for transmission(s) and hoard stock rear diffs.

If memory serves only the first year was a trunk kit, other's were 'factory'. shrug.

So, I can run my 250GTO, but my mid engine car's a no go? Doesn't seem fair, somehow... :P

How insane would you have to be to autocross a 250LM?
Clearly a 250 SWB alloy coupe would be the far superior autocross car.

We test drove a 2011 Mini and the first thing the sales man told us (we did not say a word about Auto-X) was how the Mini S is so perfectly classed for SCCA National and Pro Solo competition. Good thing that all the new car buyers at the Mini dealership check FastTrack before spending money on a car that was well classed.

Looking for input from someone who understands the Fastrack Lingo.
GENERAL
- The SEB has reviewed the following items, and thanks these members for their input:
- Sound policy feedback (4561, 4567, 4918)
My letter was #4561. I wrote in regarding the sound proposal of a few months ago, as did at least two other people based upon this line. But there was no mention of the sound proposal anywhere else in the Fastrack.

So does this mean, it's being implemented as previously listed (my letter raised issue with wording, and intent), or that the proposal has been retracted... or, or, or???

Such a vague response based upon the subject not being addressed in any manor later in the document.

That's what I thought. I was hoping that it meant something more like, we haven't included an update in this fastrack because the responders had such useful input we went back to the drawing board.

I think Pandora's box was opened when catalytic converters were allowed to be consolidated and/or removed, and ECU modifications were made legal. The no CEL rule was a lame attempt to close Pandora's box, or put the genie back in the bottle, or close the barn door after the horse has bolted, or (insert favorite idiom here).

I have more in stock, still popular with the STX/STU crowd. Will 2.5" I/O dia work for ST/STS?

One thing to point out on letters, they are all read and discussed at the committee level.

Don't interpret the line item in Fastrack as purely a "duly noted" kind of response...

On the Mini JCW, write your letters.
