Urgent! Need Chiefs for Sep. Event

Post by Sebastian Rios »

In order to put on our events, there are several key positions that must be filled before I can submit the request for insurance sanction. Usually, most of this stuff is decided well in advance, but this time Nationals has made it so that we are scrambling a little.

If you would like to volunteer for the following positions, please post here or send me an e-mail or PM.

Positions needed for Insurance:
Event Chair (Theo O.)
Safety Steward (filled, Ken Lord)
Chief of Waivers (Ed Holley)
Youth Steward (Rick Jung)

Positions needed for event management
Chief of Reg (filled, Gayle Jardine?)
Chief of Timing (filled, Rick Brown)
Course Designer/Chief of Course (filled, Jon Lugod)
Chief of Tech (filled, David Barrish)
Chief of Workers (Renee Angel)

Thanks all, volunteer early and often!

P.S. If you haven't done so before, please don't be afraid to step up, it's easier than you think.

I don't think I'm qualified for ANY of those positions at this point, but I'll volunteer for whatever else you may need IF the pay is right.

Thanks for volunteering guys, but we still need a Youth Steward, and Waiver (gate) Chief.

Without those positions filled I can't get the insurance, without insurance we can't have an event. :o

I can do waiver chief for Sunday, but I'm not sure I can make Saturday. I can line everyone up and be the name on the sanction for both days if someone can monitor the gate folks on Sat.

Hi Ed. If waiver chief is the job you got, feel free to give me a call or email me. I've done it a bunch and I can tell you exactly what it entails and what your deadline dates should be. Cell is 6 two 6 eight 18 one 87 four.

Guys,
Like Seb said we still need Worker Chief, let's give the usual folks a break, especially those that just made the long trek to nationals.

I know it's intimidating to step up the first time but you'll feel so good afterwards knowing you helped make the event happen.

Thanks Kurt! Ed please take Kurt up on the offer for guidance. Trial by fire is often the best way to learn, combined with some degree of guidance since waivers are very important.

If there is a position that needs to be filled and someone doesn't mind giving me a walk-through on the position, I don't mind filling in for any position. I can attend Sat and Sun.
