XP Corvette. thread has been hijacked enough so...

That thread got me thinking of how many lots I've run on under SCCSCC and Cal Club

My first event was at Ontario Motor Speedway 1975ish. Not on one of the many nice parking lots, but a x shaped paved dip area outside turn one. Very sandy lot 300+ entrants, 2 runs only, no x or fun runs.
Then Lion Country Safari (water park now)
Some lot in Irvine, a Ford plant or office parking lot?
Saddleback College
Hollywood Park
and of course Fontucky and El Torro

Rick, did I miss a few?

Norton! Thanks, but I only remember one lot, half asphalt and concrete. What were the other two?

Yeah, Ford Plant lot off Jamboree, Newport Beach. Ontario Speedway lot was referred to as The Ditch.
A small Carrol Shelby lot in Santa Fe Springs, so small we did two laps each.
College of the Canyons up by Magic Mountain.
Cypress College.
Also Orange County International Raceway

I've run non-CSCC at Irwindale.

Craig talked about running both Santa Anita Park and Dodger Stadium. Not sure if those were CSCC or not.

We ran Angels Stadium.

Besides are traditional site at Norton there was an all concrete pad near the hangers and main entrance that Brian Robertson would rent. We ran a Nationals test n Tune there. Also there is a separate lot that would appear to me to be a capped toxic waste pile. Nicely covered and sealed, but you can't build anything on it. Ashland has one of those down in Wilmington at the refineries that I tried to get them interest in renting for motorsports stuff like autox, drifting, karting, and car shows. Local manager was really hot on the idea of developing it... Valvoline Community Motorsports Park. Turn a superfund site into a positive for the community. Corporate decided it made more sense and was safer to just keep the property a big dark hidden secret. :( I tried.

Jungleland... wasn't that a Springsteen song?

That was the Ford Aerospace lot in Newport. I stumbled across it driving by and stopped to watch.

Lion Country... I remember getting air over one of the "jumps" in the lot.

Not solo, but how about a vintage event on the old Pomona Fairplex course? Mid-90's as I recall...

We should go back to Anaheim Stadium.

They expected us to remove all the tire marks after the event.

Different owners now. Small chance I'll get an event there in June.

An event at Santa Anita would kick ass. Short drive for anyone in LA, and the lot is massive with no lamp posts. RoadKill screwed around there in the most recent episode, so at least they aren't totally opposed to it being used for purposes besides parking.
