WTB: Miata parts; 1995 DD, Suspension
OK, I need help.
That said I am the proud owner of a 1995 Miata. Red, shades of red and very stock. Last owner for 10 years, to the day.
It is going to need: front and rear shocks.
I would like to add a limited slip. The car has a cloth interior with power windows and AC.
What do you suggest and what might you have in the garage collecting dust.
Thanks.
David
My wife is going to drive it to work. She leaves for work first and has first crack at the keys.

The E36 is Katie's. But only after I got it to pass smog.
I now am driving a '99 Subi Outback as my DD, connect the dots.

With three cars, unless you lucky bastard have a three ( or +) car garage, sounds like you need to "arrange" cars each evening so it not worth someones time to take the chosen one, and it remains behind for you. Might work for a day or two... on the other hand, then you get nada as retaliation...David Barrish wrote: My wife is going to drive it to work. so... on to plan B, why isn't the kido stuck with the outback?

Yes, I will need a truck at some point. But I have looked at a lot of over priced, well used, stuff that will not pass the wife test.
Still looking.

Re: WTB: Miata parts; 1995 DD, Suspension
Almost....
Katie has the E36 and E21. I get to drive/fix them.
The 2002 is a work in progress that will require a truck to get it to events. The Outback is moving to winter driving.
My Miata, that my wife will probably decide she will drive, is my new DD.
Miata parts, anybody have any suggestions? I need the ground clearance of the stock springs. Between the rocks and pine cones (the size of a dachshund) the car is going to remain elevated.

If someone offers you R-package Bilsteins, run the other way. I thought they were over damped even when I was in my 20's...

Is it a BASE model? Call Mazda and give them the VIN they will give the as shipped info. For a DD why do you need Torsen? Who cares the just leave is parked when the snow is on the ground. You really want a 3.64 R/P for freeway MPG, you can get the R/P from MazdaComp and have Unitrax swap out the 4.10 in the 95 now.
You need a hardtop ($$) before winter. Just get some OEM replacement shocks. Not worth the time to install used stuff.
http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.ph ... t=Bilstein" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Just change oil/trans/diff/new plugs NGK/wires NGK/flush the radiator and do Seafoam via the PCV valve. Maybe SS brake/clutch lines if the OEM are getting a bit ugly.
The miata is a much better DD any any old vintage bmw, wake up and smell the coffee. I did 4 years ago so much better and tons of cheap parts, but you need to be a punk of 19 or so to fit in so good luck with that

Grant,
Do you use Redline MT90 or MTL in the transmission?

Redline 75/90 NS is the right choice for the transmission.
Do NOT use MTL: the pile of shrapnel currently on my bench at work is proof why not.

I use FORD MTX5QS in my 6sp and it works much better than stock or any variation of redline. the dealers will either have 0 or a huge stock.

I have a NA Miata limited slip taking up space in my garage. It's all yours if you want to come pick it up. Let me know.
