Combined Street classes
Is it correct that there are only the 3 Street classes, S1, S2, S3? Individual classes will not be scored eg: SS, AS, BS....

Re: Combined Street classes
Yes, that's correct.
The intent was to provide better competition, like we used to have with SK1 and SK2. We heard many complaints about the diluted competition last year, as well as the imbalances that resulted between lighter, low-powered cars vs heavier, high-powered versions.
The three-class solution addresses all the concerns we heard while maintaining competitive depth.

Re: Combined Street classes
Thanks Mike. So, will the classes have an index to keep them even like the old SK1/SK2?

That is correct. There will be the new Street index for the classes. I will have the 2014 sup regs ready to post tomorrow.

The index values themselves were posted a few months ago: http://home.comcast.net/~paxrtp/rtp2014.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Jeremy Cottrell wrote:Thanks Mike. So, will the classes have an index to keep them even like the old SK1/SK2?

Re: Combined Street classes
As a reminder:
For Street cars on 140+ treadwear
S1 = SS+AS+BS+FS
S2 = CS+DS+ES
S3 = GS+HS
For Street cars on under 140 treadwear
SSR,ASR,BSR,CSR,DSR,ESR,FSR,GSR,HSR are all combined into SR
As far as what we want on your cars locally, for the Street classes, just need to add 1,2 or 3 to your Street class. For the SR classes, just your class since all are combined. Not sure what will be required at the National level.
However, when registering on MSR, you will still need to pick your indexed class in the first box and your base class in the second box (labled PAX).
So you pick S1, S2, S3 or SR as your "class" and then the appropriate stock class in the PAX box.
