She must've loved having gears. Waiting for the kid karts to spool up is painful (but a useful teaching tool, since it makes you want to maintain all the speed you can).

Drove my friend's MR2 Turbo this weekend. Ran in SSM on all-seasons. It was a really fun car, but you just had to be careful with the throttle.

So, what was her time? Didn't see it on the video. It looked fast.

Here is a comparison of Jason Isley driving my car and me. The car has gone through some pretty major transformations since the last time he drove it and his time reflected that.

My time was a 58.7 his was a 59.6

Well, she was only .9 behind Suzanne Segal who is likely her biggest competition at Nationals. That's pretty amazing considering she's only been driving a shifter for a few months.

Me, too.. but I didn't care for the practice format. My run group assignment was 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, then work.

What is your preferred format?

At least you got to rest. My second/third group ran 50 minutes long and into my final group and I ended up without a break. My last three runs were trash as a result because I was so tired.

Not that I do practices often, or my opinion was asked...

My preference when I do do them is, either run/work morning, or run/work afternoon, so it's only a half day, and I don't have to give up my whole weekend for a Prac/Champ combo. Some of us have wifes/kids/other commitments, who don't attend with us and want/deserve time on our days off too.

to start, I know the job of planning and running these events is difficult and are often thankless, but I really do appreciate the efforts.

to answer your question... the standard 6 runs before and 6 after lunch that was the norm for years seemed to work for me.

my problem with it was that I felt it was difficult to get into a groove with the long waits between short run groups. I know that there are those racers than can rip off their fastest lap right after their course walk, but I am not one of those racers. my standard MO at practices has been to fix parts of my driving the course on subsequent laps. with only 3 lap sessions, I felt like I was unable to progress much during each shorter session - especially with the first lap of each session used to warm up tires and remember where I was an hour before. I still had fun! I just felt that the format wasn't as fun or as conducive to my improvement process as others we've used.
