2015 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS changes??
Posted: Sun Nov 23, 2014 2:50 pm
It looks like it is time to make an update to the SRs. Street class replaced Stock in 2014. The 2013 SRs did not get updated to reflect the changes. George Schilling asked me to start this thread. The 2015 events start in January and it would be nice to update the SRs before they start.
My understanding:
We are using the 2013 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS with updated 2014 PAX indexes and 2014 SCCA classes. Nothing was run incorrectly in 2014 but the SRs are out of date. 2015 may need more changes.
Below the text in red needs review:
APPENDIX C - CSCC Solo Regional Class PAX Indices
TRK (same as National ESP) 0.849
CSM (same as National SSM) 0.881
CST (CSM index x .980) 0.862
All RT (x stock class index) 0.980
HST (x stock class index, if on 140+ treadwear tires) 0.975
My understanding:
RT classes are listed however the RT class was dissolved by SCCA and replaced with Street in 2014. References to Stock Classes does not apply for 2014 and 2015. All Stock classes were changed to SSR + A-HSR for 2014 only. Only SSR will continue into 2015. A-HSR will no longer exists. Locally we created S1, S2 and S3 in 2014 for Street classes to run PAX. 2015 may have other changes??

My understanding:
The PAX listings in the SRs are from 2013. The 2013 SRs did not get updated to reflect the 2014 changes. New 2015 PAX indexes are available.

APPENDIX A - 2013 CSCC SOLO REGIONAL COMPETITION CATEGORIES AND CLASSES
Historic 1 and 2:
All Stock Class cars running tires with a treadwear rating of 140 or higher will receive an additional PAX of .975 over their Stock Class PAX.
My understanding:
The intent of this was to allow Stock class cars to run on Street tires like SK and have an adjusted PAX index. Now that Street class has replaced Stock class (as of 2014) the wording is no longer needed because the Stock class was removed. Street class cars are not allowed to run on D.O.T. R-Comp tires. Street class has an index that reflects the TW adjustment. The only class that could be called Stock is now called SSR. If the text is not removed we should replace "Stock Classes" with "SSR Class."
