That factcheck runs both candidates through the wringer for B.S. ads isn't good enough for you because it tarnishes your candidate and his ilk, so it must be biased against you because any criticism, even if it's justifiable, is an attempt wreck America.

I just don't get conservatives who will hold on to their love of one of their elected kind even after the indictment, verdict and sentencing are done. Guess that's the result of Iran-Contra. I don't buy the argument that there's a subconscious bias on the part of people who are consciously striving for balance. There is no more scientific foundation for that then there is for humans supposedly having some sort of "lizard brain"--left over after millions of years of evolution--influencing their basic emotions, as purported by some marketing consultant.

Of course, the neo-cons don't believe in science anymore than they believe in the republican democracy we have now. The only reason they have a foreign policy is because they can't turn the clock back to Jefferson's idea of a libertarian and isolated country made up of gentleman farmers and small merchants. If Burr had gone gunning for Hamilton before the central bank was established we could all be sitting in our wood-heated homes reading the Farmer's Almanac instead of watching our economy collapse.

In the slate article the Rodriguez case alludes to Poverty Laws holy grail. My favorite law school prof is one of the darlings of the Poverty law movement. Steve, nice job finding and posting this stuff as it became available. This stuff should be required reading for Obama supporters and fence sitters. But alas, most Obama supporters don't know who this man is and don't seem to care. While admittedly our system is far from perfect, it's certainly the only system where many can rise from poverty to a position of wealth and certainly better than a system of throwing crumbs to the masses. I wonder what the reaction will be when people realize who they have voted for? Who'd a thunk it. And yet here we are. Is there still a chance? Maybe.
