George, I don't know if you got my email or message, but I am not running the ProSolo and therefore do not want to practice Saturday. Someone else would make better use of the runs....
Thanks, Don Salyers

Re: Happy 10th Birthday to me
I can't remember my first event but it was in the Sears parking lot in Pomona about 1965 or 1966 and I drove my 1960 Bugeye Sprite. Later we ran at Hollywood Bowl in the terraced parking lots. The pit/main straight area of Riverside Raceway was the last one (clutch problems and divorce) for about 40...

Re: National SK Class?
I don't want it to. I'm perfectly happy with how my car (in all of its under-prepared glory, apparently) is able to compete in SK2 right now. I just think I should have the same opportunity nationally. Jeff, you couldn't compete at a national level in that car no matter what! If they made a Nationa...

Can we please just get through one year with a stable ruleset in the ST category? I don't have a problem with the rules, I just wish they would stay the same for a while. Just S#!t or get off the pot... Well I guess that's the big plus for prep and mod, rules are pretty much the same, year after ye...

About 25 years ago I was watching a movie channel late on a Friday night after a couple of beers and was transported to "everyman's" fantasy by a movie called Summer Lovers . "A young American couple go to the Greek islands for the summer and are dazzled by the beauty and the uninhibi...

Re: How Come We Don't Have More Formula Car Racers?
But A6s come up to working temp faster than some slicks. Not on a 1000lb car. And keep in mind just like you have the R6 and A6 you will find up to 3 to 4 compounds of slicks. If you know the right people you can even have your own compound made. In the last few years a number of people have shown ...

... I have two project cars already. One CRX might make it's second appearance at El Toro next month. Not all that fast, but faster than my Yaris (as of last outing together). Hey Dan, want to be my buddy? eh? ;) How fast is not the question---how does it compete in a class is the SCCA question. CR...

it's pretty easy to see where the dividing line is. cheap car owners want cheap tires (oh and they want to win on the cheap tires), expensive car owners want expensive tires. most CS/DS/ES/GS/HS people have no idea how not fun driving a SS/AS/BS car is on street tires. the question I have is what d...

sorry bud, there is no way you'd fit in any formula style cars that I know of. The formula style cars run in Modified classes, therefore you can make them fit----just a bit more modified than others. It may just have a few convex fiberglass panels and your feet may stick out the grille if it has on...

Is one allowed to use tire treatments in CM to try and extend tire life ? Are Hoosier A6's softer then racing slicks? You're allowed to make your own tires in your garage if you want in P/M. I picked up enough OPR or what ever it was at Nationals that after 15 runs here I am just now seeing the ori...

Re: How Come We Don't Have More Formula Car Racers?
One clue might be found in the Nationals results. Most of the Prep and Mod Class champions are areas with colder climates where there are no events during the winter, allowing time to work on the car. My next car might be a Formula F [formerly Ford, changed to F with last years homologation of the ...

Considering the US is way behind in cell infrastructure, IMO you're stuck with crappy service either way. The standards used elsewhere are several years ahead of the US. I've never been to a country where the cell phone infrastructure is good, so I have no frame of reference. But my wife's phone (i...

The most recent national finals data is the most significant to look at. Rules change and the formula to perfect a chassis improves. This is a great discussion so far. Thanks everyone for the input.
