Re: While we wait for the flatbed ...

Spike or Butch? PUH-LEESE! Gee, Kurt, I'm curious what you named YOUR car ;) I'm not much of a car namer, but my daughter is a card carrying member of the car namers club. She named it Kirby. My last car (the G35) was Steve. Don't ask me why. :lol: How do you know if your car is male or female? (My...

Re: E-Board Event Course Set-up

I'm looking for some volunteers to help set-up course. It looks like we will be able to set-up on Friday, but we are not certain what time we can start. I would guess 3pm at the earliest but it may be closer to 5 pm. I'll keep everyone updated on that. Thanks! Hey Christine! I was wondering if ther...

Morons. The Miracle of the Interweb; clueless people can now be heard better. Kind of reminds me of the Political Paddock, but I digress.... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: P.S. Just to be clear: Shaun would DESTROY these morons in ANY form of motorsport. Major news networks/papers/etc. are going down in f...

Re: Newb from Long Beach

Hello all, New guy here with a stock 08 MazdaSpeed3. I plan on attending the El Toro event on the 14th and possibly the 15th. Not planning on competing this first time around but I will be checking out the scene, hopefully getting to know a few people, and how the drill goes. Hopefully I can ride a...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

Pretty sure the point is you can't drive unless you are registered? Insurance and all. I think I might have a good chance of getting into the practice. Pretty sure if we split the entry with me you will get in. Just costs money. Better get used to that phrase...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

I think you would need to register for the practice. Maybe we can share/split the practice?

Pending if we even get into the practice. There is a priority list. Maybe you will find favor in the Registeration persons eyes?

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

Maybe we can get a section of El Toro to practice on? You just need the clutch to launch and when stopping. To upshift, pull shifter up. To downshift, push shifter down. For some reason this is not so easy to remember? }:) Just lift off the gas before upshifting. Real bad if you are reving 13K and d...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

Two of the creature comforts I miss most are: 1) an electric start and 2) adjustible seat/steering. If you are too big or too small you probably need to do things to the kart to get it to fit just right. (Seat size, placement, pedel location, etc...) You can't always just jump into somebodys kart an...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

You can get a modern Formula Ford (other than a swift) for well under $10k. I've seen them as low as $6500 lately. They're pretty much bullet-proof, and no where near as fiddly as the average DSR. Still not as cheap or fast as F125 though, and you need a slightly bigger trailer... But you can run i...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

I don't know why more people don't run F125? You do have to figure out how to transport it, learn the secrets of speed for shifter karts, buy the safety gear/clothes, constantly be on the lookout for loose or broken stuff, and hope it does not rain too hard but other than that it is the way to go! :...

Any recommendations for a cheap and good air compressor for home garage use? Does Harbor Freight have anything? Now there is an oxymoron for you. (cheap and good) I would recommend something I found at Pep Boys. (Harbor Freight and others sell these too) :idea: It is a combination air compresson/ba...

I'm back.... In my second week now of practicing. No shoulder pain. Everything else hurts, but the shoulder is fine. Now looking for tournaments to play in while my handicap is still ridiculously high. Its rather larcenous. I'd rather play scratch.... But I'm not that good (for the time being). BTW...
