Re: November 9th Results

Steve, I am not sure if Stacy got called on the outside cone or the slalom cone. I know that the worker reported that your car (115) hit a cone. The worker was standing next to a cone as the report was made. I questioned it and got conformation. I personally did not see the car hit it because I was ...

Re: November 9th Results

Doug... You guys got it all wrong on Stacey's cone. She didn't hit the wall cone she moved the middle slalom cone. That cone was reset late but wasn't out of the box and was upright. I think the worker was referring to that cone as they were setting the other cone on the next car. I watched it from...

Re: November 9th Results

Any idea where Stacey's second run cone was? That one hurts. Car 115 hit a shoot cone in the early part of station 2. (1 of the set of 4 on the outside as you go up the hill) Worker quote, "That car hit a cone (pointing at 115 as the worker was standing at the box setting it back)." Radio...

Re: how has the economy hit you?

My company is one of the most solid companies in our industry. We sell to a wide range of markets. The real hurt will be January - May. This quarter is slow but the next quarter is looking very bad. It takes time for people to react. It gets difficult to get parts to make products when suppliers go ...

When the public is stupid enough to vote in something like a train to San Francisco that will never pay for it self ever at a time when the state has no money we need to make some changes to our system or start packing up and moving out.

Hey everyone, I'm Taylor, and i'll be driving my first solo2 event this upcoming sunday (Cali Speedway Nov 9). I drive a 2007 Civic Si with a few suspension goodies/exhaust, and looking to further improve my driving. I'm a regular up in the canyons in Malibu, but I can't push my car up there nearly...

Re: Cars & Coffee -- new Solo2 members in waiting??

Might I suggest that everyone that displays their car do a little write up of what their mods. are and what class they run in (Stock, ST*, SP, etc.)? Got it! Retro cars and Grassroots motorsports press for me. :D http://www.parts4vws.com/images/members/Doug%20Teulie/press2.JPG We need some cones to...

Re: Cars & Coffee -- new Solo2 members in waiting??

I've got a message in to the guy who runs the cars and coffee forum to see how the featured marques thing works. It really won't matter if we're not featured. It just means we will have to arrive early to get space together. Who will definitely go if we do this on the 15th? Does that Sat work for y...

I don't know what I am going to run next year. I am thinking about GP and also thinking about driving a different car (2002). I may just run BMW events with the Scirocco??? Not sure at this point.

Re: Historic class discussion

Many of the historic cars are home rebuilt and not purchased at the big auto mall. I think that some of you need to walk the walk before you talk the talk, In other words you need to restore a car first before you make judgments on classing. Sorry my post came off wrong, my point was that in order ...

Re: Historic class discussion

I would volunteer as a referee on Historic modifications if I moved out of the class first. I am thining of moving out too. Don’t take my statements below personally. Many of the traditional SCCA class arguments don’t make sense in Historic. It takes some people 3 or more years to restore an old car...

Yes, but... 4 items in original post. 3&4 deal with age of cars. I want the Hisroric driver's to have fun and enjoy driving the older cars. I would love to see good close racing. I agree that the class needs some updates. I am the new kid (my car is 32 years old like most of the rest of the act...

Re: Historic class discussion

The problem with a rolling date is at some point in the future all the cars in the Historic class will be BMW E36s. Four thousand pound cars are not that fun to drive... Yeah, it's amazing how capable those 4,000 pound cars are. ;) I'd have said your greatest concern with the rolling date should be...

Re: Historic class discussion

my only input is that I don't think any historic class should have a constant date for entry. It should be a rolling window.. ie. Cars over 25 years old. All the 90's cars are still active in healthy classes (think 5 years ahead). The problem with a rolling date is at some point in the future all t...

I smell smoke in OC (Thursday morn).
The Channel 9 weather girl reported high winds out of the west for Friday and DRY strong Santana winds for Sunday.
Then she reported on the potential for fire do to the perfect “fire weather.”
