Re: New year, new calendar of events, any word on ..

This was a good meeting. Productive information, that will be available, is in the works. The next step is applying as a region to be part of a pilot program to put into place a frame work that get's the kids back into the karts. With May as the start if we are accepted in the pilot program. This is...

New year, new calendar of events, any word on ..

The calendar of events from the SCCA is going up, just posted in fact. Fontana and Crows are on the schedule. Any word on including the JDP in the mix?

We all need to do some planning, not at the last minute.

Steve,

Thank you, both to you and Stacey. If something does brake loose we will need a heads up. Samuel is now 6'3" and has out grown just about everything.

Re: JDP Driving Program, Year 2 with no events?

Reed, Yes, the easy thing to do would be to not pay for his membership but; 1. If they get there act together and restart the program, I send in money, if it happens in the first year and they go back to his original anniversary/start date.hey do not pro rate the balance of the year. 2. The SCCA mak...

JDP Driving Program, Year 2 with no events?

My annual licensing renewal with the SCCA, for both myself and Samual, is paid. When paying it , to the SCCA home office Candice provided me the opportunity to send a request for "relief" on Samuel's portion of the bill. We are still waiting for some sort of public acknowledgment of what to expect i...

Could we dedicate our September event to /for a Divisional event? Not sure what it would look like, one day or two, but we have the weekend and the registration has not opened up.

Just a thought.

Re: JDP Assessment Committee Named, now we can...

Again, thank you for the public forum disclosure, on a local basis. Will these issues be addressed on a chapter, that does not comply basis? Will those that conform and are certified as adhering to the approved standard be allowed to compete? Looking at it from a reward good behavior basis, are we n...

Anthony,

I think you are on the right path for beginners. Can you ask what is the issue for kids with years of experience running to the established rules?

Without regard to the age of child, that wishes to participate in the JDP events, they be allowed to ride with a SCCA member parent or instructor. For the purposes of an introduction to the cones, line of travel and driving details. I do not see this as a drive at speed, but one of an introduction t...

Re: JDP Assessment Committee Named, now we can...

Anthony,

I'm asking for a "in a car, with the kids" in the beginning situation. Having a two way conversation with them as they are on the course in the very beginning, opportunity.

Your description works in a more advanced application.

Re: JDP Assessment Committee Named, now we can...

Anthony, First, Thank you for passing this on to Brian. If and when people start to take advantage of this program they are going to pay attention to "things and stuff" way out side of their personal auto cross "box". The minute you send your child off on a lap that allows them to do more than putt ...

JDP Assessment Committee Named, now we can...

The JDP Assessment Committee has been named. I understand that they will address and complete the path we will follow to get the kids back into the events. Based on my observation as a parent/participant I would commend the local group that has made this experience work for our family. Now, to get t...

Re: JDP Program Temporarily Suspended

Anthony, Thank you for the update. The response of the "power that must be followed" reminds me that we can only be responsible for our actions, on a local basis. Making "us" responsible for all the out liers is not our responsibility. If we are rewarded by allowing us to have events it is a reflect...

Yes, I see that but the registration for the PRO opened up on 6/17/2020 and two participants did register for JA.

Might be a miscue, no?

Junior Karts running this weekend, are they?

Each region is approved to run JA at their Solo events. To be approved for JB or JC a region must have recent experience running Formula Junior karts and must contact the National Office for approval (solo@scca.com). The above was taken from the mother ship web site this morning. There are two kids ...

Re: JDP Program Temporarily Suspended

We got a letter from SCCA, addressed to Samuel, a minor child, that I can or can not open? Without his permission. Am I missing anything? Can this be an issue? I am just the father of a 9th grader, why/how do I have any say in anything to add to this, situation? This might be like being at College F...

Re: Old Results

John,

I would like to Thank You for your efforts on pulling the past into the future. I did run both events in Palm Springs, narrow events and lined with K-rale on the permitter. Yes, they did leave a lasting impression on at least one car.

I hope the results surface.
