Re: NTB, E36 ECU
If it got wet during a car wash or rain it can be saved by opening up the case and gently cleaning it with WD40. If it can't be saved I think I have a couple but would need to search thru some boxes to find them.

This is an incredibly well prepared car for anyone considering going w2w .
The Production category is also well attended with a really stable rule set.

Palmdale and Victorville are close to an hour apart.....
I would pick neither but Hesperia and Apple Valley would both be a bit better, close to Victorville but an hour from Palmdale

FS: AEM EMS-4 ECU with harness
Selling my AEM ECU used for three seasons in my Toyota complete with harness. Everything in good working condition, one of the two can-bus connectors was removed for connecting to my dash but wires are still intact and second connector is still intact. Was told they are building another Driving Center in Palm Springs soon. It's part of this with zero chance of that track being used for anything but very high paying events. http://www.thethermalclub.com/ Developed and owned by this company, familiar to anyone in to golf http://discoverylandco.com/

Toby, no race car is kinda fluid... Like CSM. Headlights, wipers, muffler, gutted interior, cage, we'll take it. The idea is to keep it novice friendly/not scary. Bring Bev and the Blue car! (With quiet muffler) I was thinking it might work for her, BTW my not quiet muffler was only 88dB at Buttonw...

Well, I can sort of help you. I have a non Vanos 4-door 92 325i with a blown headgasket you can have for free. It's a parts car so some stuff is missing but if you're up for it you can take your Vanos head and put on this bottom end. Did I mention it's free ;)

Ran the car for it's last race at Auto Club Speedway 3 weeks ago but had a rod come thru the block in T2 at 127mph...... Some of the parts are showing up in Bill Schenkers new car some are being used in my next one an...

Re: Lemons/Rally-x/Track project FS
I passed this link over to the NorCal Rallysprint people. They're just starting up this sport and one of the requirements is a welded cage so yours would be a good starting point. GLWS Thanks Bill! It's a 1.75 Tig welded Chrome-Moly cage, stamped with a SCCA logbook# so should be good for most orga...

Selling my Toyota Celica as a roller. This car was built by TMS as 1 of 20 for the Long Beach Pro-Celebrity Race, it has a SCCA log book and could be turned back to a SCCA or NASA w2w car. It comes with a 5spd transmission and axles but no engine or electrical. Bilstein coilover suspension with Swif...

Re: 2001 BMW 525i wagon- should I buy it?
Richard is spot on and I would add cam sensors (intake and exhaust) fail frequently and so does the many plastic and rubber hoses/connectors under the intake manifold. None of that renders the car inoperable but will throw a CEL. An OBD2 scanner will be your best friend, otherwise good cars.

Probably not, ITE is a catch all class so there's a big spread in performance. A well prepped and driven Spec Miata will do fine in ITEVereker Tam wrote:But first, I need to make sure my car is race legal, I think with the current mods I'll be in ITE where I'll get hammered

Re: AEM EMS4 - Wiring Harness - Coils
This is what I'm converting to on the A mod. Toby used the system as well. Yes, I have that same ECU and harness, I'm using coils from a Toyota 1ZZ instead of those coils. Good system that's easy to install and work with, the can bus works great running an aftermarket dash. The only thing missing i...

Re: Wanted: 225/45/15 tires; RA1, BFG...
I've been very happy with the BFG's in both R1 and R1-S, similar grip to a Hoosier R or A but lasts much longer. The RA1 will be slower but will last even longer, a good alternative would be the Nitto NT01 wich is in between the Toyo RA1 and 888. CalClub will run a two day TT in conjunction with the...

Re: Okkk so I got carried away - now what class are we?
What SCCA road racing class is this built for? There are rules that allow some of the road racing production/GT/ST cars into Auto-x Prepared classes, so maybe that would work for you? It's only classed in GT3 with a 4 cylinder and not classed anywhere else. GT3 Cars - BMW Model Years Body Style Dri...
