I have to say, that looks like a very cool car! I'd love to see it at our next event. Are you trying to dial it in, test it, or just have a fun time?RokuDergy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 5:33 pm I have a completely stock 2023 Rush SR. Re: JDP Program Temporarily Suspended
When lawyers get involved, all bets for a rational outcome are... influenced . And insurers rely on their lawyers. I'd be willing to bet this isn't the SCCA having a concern, but the SCCA dealing with insurance repercussions. If you have a Jr in the program, I suggest you sign up with Brian and part...

Re: Nationals run days question
And FJ is a group of supplemental classes, so the SEB can easily and immediately change rules if needed. Edit: To be clear, I am not an anti-FJ person. I fully support the program. It's just that FJ is the only category where not only does everything in grid have to be motionless (besides FJ, that i...

Re: Extreme street, should it replace CST?
I have no dog in this fight, but in my opinion: no. CST already covers everything that's in XS. If there's an index for XS, I'd suggest keeping whichever is "harder" - XS or our basis for CST. We don't need people gaming the system on soft indexes to mess up the year-long competition for d...

Re: Nationals run days question
Having seen all the uproar and the retraction, in retrospect I have a few thoughts: The impact on senior volunteers, like Ops Stewards, is likely the biggest negative from an operational standpoint. I think few people care about that, but given the SEB's responsibilities in managing Nationals, I kno...

Basically, it's our CST. We've had this for years, if not decades.
It's actually a bit more restrictive than what we have though.

Re: Lightweight wheels
Yup. For comparison, I happen to like ARC wheels for my BMW. They're what I use on the SM M3, and I was thinking of getting an additional set for use on the Berry STX car. They have a new forged wheel, which I figured would look nice, be strong and fairly light. https://www.apexraceparts.com/wheels/...

Re: Lightweight wheels
I suggest weighing one. Check some other sizes’ weights on their site. Smaller wheels seem to be heavier, and they don't quote weights for marginally larger sizes. Seems odd to me. They might be accurate, but it seems worth a little more due diligence before you buy a set of wheels and are disappoin...

Re: Lightweight wheels
I’ve been checking out 17” STX wheels Steve. That seems to be right in the ballpark.
We weighed one of the current wheels on the BMW when Marshall was installing some new tires, and they were 17.5 lbs on the scale he had available.

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
Hi Emon. The easy options for you are a local class we call CST (California Street Touring) and CAM C (Classic American Muscle Contemporary.) CST is basically any street-licenseable car on 200 or greater treadwear tires. It is frequently our most popular class. CAM C is a national class, and you can...
Re: Pit Jacks
What's the use case Bill? If it's just jacking up to put jack stands underneath or to change a wheel, what about a short ramp (aka "2x6") for a little more jack clearance and stick with the racing jack?

Re: Miata NC3 Engine Swaped NC1 legal in CS?
I'm not familiar with the distinctions between NC1, NC2 and NC3 engines, but there are two other key points to research before declaring this a Hard No: Is there either a Tech Bulletin from Mazda stating that replacement NC1 motors must incorporate the NC2 or NC3 components or configuration? If that...

Re: Porsche's weird accelerating sound
I noticed that at our most recent event - on a Cayman.
Which model(s) were you hearing that sound? I'm wondering if it's a unique sound they developed for the "new" turbo cars. It's not quite as unique and pleasing as the air-cooled 911 engines, but it's definitely different.

David, Even in Street Prepared, you're not allowed to move the spring location. If the car wasn't a coilover configuration from the factory, you have to go up to Street Modified before that's a legal conversion. I am not familiar with the pre-E30 configuration. Are the rear springs around the damper...

Re: Aug. 3-4, 2019 Santa Anita Park Event
Regarding sound, the official test procedure (for car manufacturers, which is also referenced in California law) specifies the meter be located at a 45 degree angle from the exhaust tip, at the same height, 0.5 meters / 20 inches away. The throttle is applied slowly over a period of several seconds ...
