Re: Novice Drivers, CoDriving & Half ass Cover Jobs

How about a course map telling corner workers WHERE turn 1 is? How about fire extinguishers at each station? Just some of the things I noticed at NOTLD http://www.914club.com/bbs2/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif The 3 line gig at signup had ALL newbies confused. How about we *help* them. Like M...

Re: Passengers allowed??

She loved it! And she is hooked! I thought it best if I didn't instruct her in the car. I had already spent a lot of time walking the course with her and explaining everything I could think of. We walked it 3 times and I made her draw the course by memory. She did great! I wanted to thank "Lind...

Re: NOTLD Pre-Reg is Closing....

Sorry to hear about the loss. I knew I was attending an event dedicated to him, but didn't know what his function was with the group. I have been involved with 10-12 different AutoX groups over the last 21 years. I have learned a little from each of them. From SCCA/PCA/UFO/ and all the different reg...

Since you just recently found our forums and main website you probably would not have been able to pre-register for this event.
No problem! Just trying to make her 1st SCCA experience as smooth as possible. Maybe she can catch a ride with another female driver this evening??

and it is just easier to show you a link to where they keep them New tab on the front page of solo2 "Forms" and provide links to the SCCA site for all pertinent "forms"? I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, it has to be dummy proof for me.. http://www.914club.com/bbs2/style_em...

We live in an age of technology :) Wireless hand held CC scanners. Secure, easy to use. They even have scanners that plug into the bottom of your cell phone and dial the processing companies. I learned of them from ART FAIR people that travel. How else do you pay for 1k dollar piece of art out on ma...

Re: Waiver for 18 and under. Need a link or .pdf

Thanks everyone!! I **ASSumed** this site would have a "downloads" area for the generic waivers and such :D I know full well how hectic it can be at the signup table. I'm already behind by not finding the site until AFTER pre-reg had been closed so I'm trying to minimize the pain of your g...

Re: Shock Dyno available?

You would think with places like EIBACH and SWIFT Springs being located out here, we would have a shock dyno close by!! I used to drag everything to Bisltein in Poway when I lived in San Diego. Worked closely with them to develop what is now the PSS9's for Caymans!! Notice the Bilstein truck and eng...

I'm in a white G35 sperm whale in SK2/DS.
I know your car well :) I was a crew chief last year for the Nissan/Playboy 350Z team. We had two GT class cars and two GS class cars.

Re: NO link to the main website from forum???

No driving for me tomorrow! Tomorrow is dedicated to bringing a new driver into the AutoX arena. A tall blond 16yo female who happens to drive a new Scion TC. I'll put her in HS and we will go from there! I'm not sure what I will drive here in SoCal with SCCA Solo. I have some plans for a Zoomy no w...

Re: Where to get race alignment?

not having the steering wheel completely str8 drives me nuts! Copy that! Late model Porsche's have a factory tool that screws into the steering rack and keeps the rack from moving during alignments/toe changes/camber changes. Heaven sent I tell you!! Porsche people like to use Steve Alarcon in the ...

Ha ha.. OK! now.. you have to admit that it is not "obvious"

It appears this is hosted on another server? I get two different IP addresses when I ping forums.solo2.com and solo2.com

This appears to be a generic install with a few banners slapped on it?

Re: Shock Dyno available?

The USA KW shock engineer is located in AppleValley not far off the 15. If you don't locate someone, let me know. I know a shop in Burbank who bought a shock dyno a month or so back and they *might* have it assembled and running by now. If you want PRO advice, and dyno sheets, send them too PSI up a...

Re: Passengers allowed??

Just a couple of quick notes: You can't be an instructor until after you've competed and only approved instructors are allowed to instruct.
Cool. Can someone provide the link to fill out needed forms and such or who I need to chat with to become an instructor?

Re: Passengers allowed??

Funny how that rule was to eliminate the unfair advantage of grabbing a top dog driver to coach you around the course, yet our instructor rules specifically create that exact situation!
Now you know why I asked to be an instructor in another thread :) The more times I see the course....

Re: Who's next???

On a 60 sec course EM should be a little over 1.8 seconds faster than Vic... Kiesel certainly wouldn't have any prob beating Vic (or anyone in SM) scratch. Yep. Pretty close. Our course was a 40sec course for Vic and the zoomy 914 guy's. Here is a course map of what we ran that weekend: The 914 tha...
