Re: 24 Hours of LeMons Racers Wanted!

A repossession auction may be a good place to find something. Cheap but you don't know the history of the car.

Re: 24 Hours of LeMons Racers Wanted!

In this month's issue of GRM, Hankook has an ad with Ventus F200 slicks on closeout for $85, and Ventus Z214 Slicks also on closeout for $85. WHERE?!?! I would like to LeMons. I have for many years. I will have to see my schedule and make sure I am not out of the country. I am not that good at fixi...

Re: GRM Extreme Tire Test results

How fair is it to compare a 195/55 Dunlop Z1 to a 205/50 Kumho XS? :?:

I know it is really close but we are talking milliseconds here.

Way past it's prime ... but OK for learning on. Is it worth the extra $100 (for a cheap working college student) to get the dunlop Z1's? I may just do that. Technically it is only another $50 because of the rebate. Man, Nathan is already beating me enough in the MR2. Dunlop Z1's are just what he ne...

Re: Solo dress code question

There are several types that wear skirts in the summer. Harumpf! Whilst the thought of you in a skirt is truly disturbing, I do think it is appropriate in this instance. Please wear one to the Z event. If you wear a skirt to the Z event I will pay your entry fee ;) As someone who is part Scot, I co...

Re: Solo dress code question

I don't advise flip flops for working course, sometimes you've got to move in a hurry! I have what used to be referred to as "Jamie sandals" Back in school I could run a mile in under 7 minutes in a pair. I couldnt find them on shopzilla (I no longer own any) but here is something similar...

Re: Solo dress code question

Am I allowed to wear skirts to events that I drive? The only concern is while in pre-grid, grid, and driving must have CLOSED toe shoes (i.e. sneakers). But if you're just a spectator and not driving or riding as passenger, just use common sense. Though if you showed up wearing a micro-mini you wou...

Re: WTB: Miata tires

The Kumho Ecsta XS is a great tire! Lasts long and is very competitive. I use the 205/50/15 on my 89 Civic ST car and I love the tire, best value for the money in my opinion. That makes me feel good. They are $99 in the size I need. I would like to get the Dunlop Z1's but they would be an extra $10...
