Re: WTB: Miata tires

What year is your MR-2? Different generations of MR-2's and Miatas use either 4 or 5-lug wheels, so it would help folks to know exactly what you're looking for. 5 lug (5 x 114) Jamie, Look for the Bridgestone offer that was posted on our forums here: http://tinyurl.com/d6v9lp Still a bit on the exp...

WTB: Miata tires

The MR2 needs some tires for autocross. Same size as Miata tires. preferably 215/45/16 I would be interested in other similar sizes as well. I missed out on the closeout prices on those Bridgestones ($59 each for 215(something)16's) ugh If you have some wheels (5-lug) with partly used tires on them ...

Re: RallyX @ Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista

How was it? I went to the other event on the 4th or else I would have came. Sounded like a blast! We had a great time. Lots of laughs. My co-driver Carl Vanderschuit from San Diego won the rental class and I was right behind in second (darn cone). Fun runs after were a blast. Yeah, it's too bad the...

Power steering...

Can I take the power steering unit off an MR2 that has it and hook it up or is there a bit more cutting and pasting to do?

Do I need an alignment?

I aligned my car a few months ago. Nothing crazy, 0 toe all the way around, -.9 camber front, -.3 camber rear, +6 caster (front) 0 caster rear After my car was aligned I got coilovers. The coilovers lowered the car about an inch. I just raised my car, about an inch. The taller tires on top of that r...

Re: RallyX @ Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista

Photos from a RallyX that we did a while ago ... with a rented Neon. Get the complete insurance coverage! They tried to charge me for a scratch on the fender ... that must have happened in a parking lot. You are naughty! I am not 25 and would probably be too paranoid to rent a car for such an event...

Re: RallyX @ Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista

It is times like these I wish I got the suby instead of the 7

Although I often will come home to find my brothers 8 with mud halfway up the doors  My 7 is almost an inch taller then stock ride height now. Does rallyX tear up the car?

Re: how high to raise my car?

-0.09 camber? Or is that a typo (virtually zero) and you meant -0.9? Go more - it may do the trick. I use -1.5 on my S2000 and previously also on the Miata and that might just get you what you need plus add some more cornering ability. Also re-do your rear camber to match. The exact number may vary...

Re: how high to raise my car?

others have ran my same offset (+35mm) and gotten away with it. I think that the tire brand makes a difference. It is so slight that I can see where that would work.

I am running -.09 camber right now

Re: how high to raise my car?

THE NUMBERS: before these new tires I ran 235/40/17's they were 619mm tall total The stock tires are 225//50/16's. they were 631mm tall The tires on there now are 245/45/17's they are 652mm tall Crap, I don't think all that matters since all my old tires fit under my fenders. How come other FD owner...

Re: how high to raise my car?

Exactly 1.5cm from the tip of the fender to the first point of contact. It will travel about another cm down and this is VERY VERY easy, babying it (45mph on the freeway with the flashers on) driving, and it still would rub over a bump or when I would brake. They only contact at the top part of the ...
