WTB OEM ND Miata rear sway bar

Hi all,

I bought my ND1 miata used and it had front and rear sway bars installed, but I want to stick to CS so the rear has to go. I was hoping some of you STR folks had your oem rear sway bar laying around!?

Let me know if I can help make space in your garage!

Many thanks!

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

I wish I had a truck for ease in getting the kart around but a HF trailer is sufficient. We made a little platform that it sits on and we strap it down well. We're thinking of enclosing the trailer as the kart has shifter around on the trailer and its sketchy.

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

just a little update for anyone who is interested: we had troubles tying down the kart to the trailer, but we widened the platform and figured out a simple and perfect way of mounting the tie downs. Thats all sorted out, though we might try to enclose the trailer, we'll see. Yesterday Nick (co-owner...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

we both already have suits, helmets, gloves and shoes so we're all set. and our plan is to get some wide wheels with tiny sidewalls and stretch the tires, get some poke as well. Oh and max out the camber so we can slam it... but in all reality the sticker bomb thing is pretty big with fatlace people...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

I saw that the guy wasn't looking towards me, just towards traffic so I was able to slow down significantly. And I did see the doctor so I'm alright, thanks for asking. And yeah the trailer is working fine as is with the kart sideways, so we're just going to mount chaulks to hold it in a tad better....

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

so after the hitch being late, getting hit by a truck on my bike :/, a tow strap ripping, kart slipping (we had it on straight until we turned it 90* which worked well), here it is! http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s14/mashedpaters/kart.jpg we just need to move the seat back, which is kind of anno...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

another update: went in today to uhaul to have them throw my hitch on so I could pick the kart up today...
well, apparently there's a storm in phoenix and my hitch is still chilling there so getting the kart is delayed to friday (hopefully at the latest).

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

Randy thats a good idea, I do have an extra piece of wood thats 48x36 so I could drill 4 holes in that and mount it in the center of the trailer rather than the two slabs on either side. And robert the platform is 48 inches wide at max and has 24 inches of gap in the center so it could probably fit ...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

so if the max width is 55" then I'll have about half of both rear tires on the trailer...is that ok temporarily?
or what if I pull the rear wheels/tires and have the frame sitting on the platform, and leave the front wheels/tires?

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

little update time. Trailer is built, and will be registered wednesday after I have my hitch installed, and that evening we're going to pick up the kart. We made a little platform very similar to Rick's though I think we made it too narrow, its 4 feet wide, not 5 so I'm not sure if it is wide enough...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

Thanks Randy, I'll definitely keep all of that in mind. I have also heard keeping track of miles as things can go wrong in time, some I'm going to use fuelly.com as an odo. Arthur I did get the 12 inch wheels and I still need to go grab tie downs and a spare but the wheels are well greased with good...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

I appreciate the heads up but we lubed the bearings up really well with synthetic mobile 1 grease, which felt infinitely better than the garbage that was on there, which didn't even seem like there was physically enough... My friend is going to do all the wiring for the trailer tomorrow, and we'll g...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

alrighty, so the trailer just needs to be greased (I'm getting good grease not the HF garbage) and I need to register it. Next wednesday I have an apt with uhaul and they are installing and wiring my hitch for $240 (including the hitch of course). I intend on having the trailer ready to get register...

wow, socal is pretty damn good huh?
Good luck everyone! I'm sure you won't even need it!
and driving a subaru isn't that bad when you have 29mm of front bar and -3* camber! (note: I ditched my subaru for F125 just a bit ago haha)

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

how much was the hitch itself for either the vette or santa fe cause if its anything like the one for my car thats like 220 in installation. and I will have tons of competition haha. In the same kart (ron's of course) Ron ran a 54 when I hit 61 so I have a whole lot to learn. But...I weight 140 lbs,...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

Thanks again Randy, you're a really knowledgable guy, I appreciate it. Arthur - thats a great idea, I'm probably just going to have them install/wire it tomorrow so long as they don't charge like $600 (what subaru quoted me at). Just an update, the trailer is about put together, we just need to get ...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

I really appreciate it Randy. I think I'm going to get the trailer today so I'll start looking into making a platform as I really don't want to half-ass something as important as the kart. And my car does unfortunately have separate brake and turn signal wires so it will require more than a plug-in ...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

alright, so the new thing is getting the HF trailer tomorrow, and we're going to grab some good wheel bearing grease. I'm looking into hitches and I'll probably just go buy one from uhaul so I can actually get it in person. I am still nervous about the wiring harness though. I'm terrible with wiring...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

so Nick (my co-driver/co-owner) and I went out to check out the kart. The owner (30 maybe?) and his dad were extremely knowledgeable on not only karts but all things motorsports. We both got to test drive it (Nick's first time in a kart but he's obsessed now) and it ran well. The built kawasaki moto...

Re: wrx -> shifter kart?

"Hey Jarrett, KX motors are not as common now as they used to be. They were the engine of choice in the late 90's. The parts are actually cheaper than Hondas and they're still available from any dealer. You can get pistons and rings through Wiseco. The last time I rebuilt it I actually had the ...
