Re: March 1-2 El Toro Videos & Photos

That app looks awesome; when can I get an Android port :computer: Probably not in the near future, we're working hard on adding features to the iPhone version. I wish it were easy to port an app to Android, but in reality, you basically have to start from scratch. In most cases, there's not much th...

Since we're on the subject, here's a bit of shameless promotion of my app, RaceTrace. The data below is for the two laps that I linked videos of at the beginning of this post. The purple graph is me, the green graph is Jeff C. The data was collected using a Bad Elf GPS device at 5Hz (http://amzn.to/...

Re-read the rule... and your typed statement. Passengers are allowed, but by doing so your "competition" (your word), just became a non competition run. aka DNF. In other words, we used to run up to the car / flag you off etc, to assist you not loosing your timed run. Were not doing that ...

Re: Newer and improvedier!

What are your rules on passengers? Can one green driver have a green passenger in the car, if he is signed up and gone through tech? I've been slowly getting my brother involved in Motorsport, and I'm ready to try to set the hook with Solo2 events. He has never been to an autocross event, I've only...

Re: Anyone seen DAX?

So it appears that a sufficient amount people complained loud enough that they changed their minds and they're going to use Rick Ruth's ProSolo PAX instead of ProDAX this year. The final ProSolo rules are here: http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/assets/2014%20ProSoloRules%20v8%20Doug4.pdf" onc...

Resurrecting this... The draft ProSolo rules for this year are up, and they've elected to use the ProSolo version of DAX (ProDAX) rather than a modified PAX for their indexing: http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/assets/2014%20ProSoloRules%20draft.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);retur...

Re: Rules question

If your times are exactly the same your tied, if there not, there not under either formula, so I don't see how you make more ties. Sure if you only look at one event, but if you add up all the events throughout the year, it's going to be 4x less likely to have a year-end totals tie. But as others h...

Re: Rules question

Without the 4x multiplier, the results would be the exact same only more squished together, making ties more likely (which I'm assuming is the purpose of the multiplier, though I don't actually know.) Removing the 4x multiplier would only affect relative standings for people who finish more than 25%...

Re: Fun autocross car that can fit a baby car seat? Rx8?

The final drive and trans changed in the series two. It changes the top of second gear (the only one that matters for Solo) by 2-3mph. In our 2005 we could get 62.7mph (data and radar verified) on the limiter in 2nd with a 245-35-18 V710, and there was not a single year at nationals we did not hit ...

Re: Fun autocross car that can fit a baby car seat? Rx8?

Jason: Car would be for street class. ST is a prep level I'm not ready for. FWIW, I won SK2 with mine in 2011 :D Also, I think the R3 wheels are just an inch bigger in diameter, still 8" wide though, which just means more expensive tires. AFAIK, the gearing is the same, other than the differen...

I'm not sure about the whole car seat thing, but my RX-8 is for sale if you decide you want one. I've had fairly average-sized adults in the back seat of mine on various occasions. All of the things you mentioned for maintenance sound about right. You're right to be nervous about the engines, but th...

Re: 2013 Grand Sport Corvette classing?

I thought this car would be ASR. If it is currently SS, then it will be SSR next year. There is a completely separate Appendix A (which says which cars are in which class) for the Street versions of the classes, while the current Appendix A will still apply to the *SR classes for next year. So, whi...

Re: 2013 Grand Sport Corvette classing?

If it's currently SS then it will be the same class next year, but renamed to SSR.

Locally, SSR will be combined with all other *SR classes (all stock classes on race tires) into 1 indexed class (SR1).

Re: What will be the equivalent of RTR next year?

What size tires were you running and how wide are the wheels? Conventional wisdom dictates the Hankooks like lots I'd camber, and if I remember correctly, mac strut 370z don't have a lot, but your car was quick at the practice. Double wishbone, not mac strut. 275/35R19 square on 19x9 fronts and 19x...
