How long before we see a 3-rotor Miata?

Re: Street tire index class designation

All this RT stuff does seem to be coming at the last minute, but the announcement posted that RT is being added as a supplemental to Nationals gives a valid reason to change.

I'm just figuring out how much alphabet soup I need to buy to get through the year.

Re: Control Arm Bushing Material

John, that's what i figured. Used parts are hen's teeth for this car since it was a rare bird to begin with.

Remembering this Corvette story prompted me to ask in case anyone had come up with a work-around.

I really want to build a Prepared car, but it's not my $$$ being spent here.

Re: February Practice

Every club has their own preferred method for both registering and running practices: some are very user-friendly, and some still invoke double-secret probation. Yes, it can be frustrating for new(ish) folks, but I don't ever see it changing. As practices are put on by individual clubs and not CSCC ...

Street tire index class designation

With the addition of "Road Tire" index as a supplemental class for 2012, can we now use the national RT designation in place of our regional SK?

Re: Control Arm Bushing Material

Here's a variation on the question:

I have a particular car that needs new control arm bushings, but both the bushings and the complete control arm assembly are now officially NLA from the manufacturer.

Are we completely screwed?

Been there, done that... No thanks. If the lot was somewhat flat and we didn't have random rivers running across the course, it would be at least safe: as it was, you had no idea when your car was going to head off in some random direction as you had no was to cauge the water depth. http://public.fo...

One bump before I take it apart. Was hoping it might live on as a racer, but it's not looking likely.

This is a National trophy-winning car ('10 El Toro Pro) and could do it again.

I'll take one of the "End of 1st run group - Noon" slots if they're still available.

With our current run order, does this leave time for a lunch break course walk?

I've been doing tech at SCCA events for about 30 years.

Re: 2006 Mazda MX-5 3rd Generation Limited

Just to clarify, this car does NOT have traction or stability control. Pretty rare to find an otherwise loaded car that didn't come with this. Thanks for all the kind words. It really is a fun car, and I would keep it as a daily driver if I had the space (and won the lottery.) I may still be in STR ...

We'll see... a couple of interesting options out there, but I need to have cash to jump when they're ready. I'll be needing an FJC soon for my son, so now that I'm considering a trailer that opens up a lot of new possibilities.

Re: Roll Bar Rules - Street Prepared

We have a similar problem installing roll bars ion NC Miatas: the roof structure prevents any rearward braces unless the soft top is completely removed. The accepted solution (as in, allowed at SCCA time trials among others) has been a single, forward-facing brace from the top center of the hoop to ...

New in box: 949 Racing 15x8 wheels

Set of four wheels: 15x8, 4x100, 40mm offset, 59.1 center bore. Gloss black with machined rim.

Brand new and never even opened the boxes... well, maybe I opened one to look at it, but it got closed and taped back up and now I can't tell which box it was.

$450 for the set
