Incredibly sad news... John was a truly great person.
I received this info from John's sister Jennifer:
" I am having a celebration of his life on Sat. Feb 24th from 11am to 4pm. at his shop located at 123 Monte Vista, Costa Mesa "
Let's fill the street out front up with cool cars.

Cones found after the Pro Solo
I had an event in the lot the day after the Pro and found four shiny new cones left after everyone had cleared out.

FS: folding, wall-mounted tire rack.
20150616065108.jpg Anybody need a super sturdy wall-mounted tire storage rack? This would also work great in a trailer. It folds up when not in use to only be 8" deep on the wall. I used it in my old shop, but the new place has walls that are not drill-friendly so I went with a different solut...

I would sign up for our local class CST, which is run-what-you-brung on 200tw or more tires (which i think the Federals are?)

Wow, that's really nice! I would just trash it by turning it into a rally car, so I'd better stay away.
Do you have this posted anyplace public where I can share it? I know some people that would be interested, but they're not racers so can't see this site.

Much shorter/simpler courses: their course in in the infield parking lot so they are working with a lot less space. FTD might be 23-26 seconds?
MANY runs... last time I ran one I lost count after about 25.
No work.

Michael, I'll take them... I'll talk to you this weekend.
On the V12's that is exactly the tire I currently run on the street. Don't need the wheels, but what do you want for the tires? You can message me here or email directly at steve.lepper @ yahoo

WTB: 275/18 tires
Looking for used, cheap 275/40 (or 35) -18 street tires. I'm going to be doing a drifting practice event and am looking for a set or two to burn off. Can also use older 140TW rated tires. With all the street tire testing going on, there has to be a couple of failed experiments out there...

Pro Solo co-drive wanted
Looking to see if anyone could use a tire warmer for the El Toro Pro, and possibly Crow's Landing if you're doing both events. My recent background is in STS, STR, and a C (now E) S Miata, but I've driven everything over the years. A Mazda product would be my first choice, but I'm open to anything. ...

Re: FC RX-7 classification
I see your point. Here's the thing: per the SEB, VIN numbers are NOT protestable, so as long as the car you present complies with exactly what you put on your entry form, you're good to go. If the body shells are exactly the same, you could create one car from the other, as long as you swap EVERYTHI...

That only if the get the 15 repaired by then... remember, it's washed out North of Vegas, so expect a detour.
If they really want people to attend a late season event like this they need to make them count towards entries for 2015 nationals.

Yes, installation is key, as is the quality of the bushing kit you use. Make sure you use an installer that knows what he's doing with them or you will just destroy the bushings in short order.

Auto shipper recommendations?
I have to get a car across country (OC to Boston) and am wondering who we use for the club's annual trip to Nationals?
Nothing exotic so don't need enclosed or specialty rigs, but those are all I know. Just looking for an inexpensive and dependable open carrier.

Why is that? If it's built, they don't want it sitting around so cars usually ship pretty quickly.
