Re: July FasTrack

After some conversations with Toyo folks, my conclusion is that it's an issue that's lost in translation. When you ask if the tires all use the same compound , they say yes.. when you ask if the tires all use the same construction , they say no. I've been using the 195 Toyo not because it's faster (...

Re: Miata NA Extension Top Hats & Koni Yellows

If those are the Race model, they will be awfully stiff for stock springs on a street car.

To use stock springs, remove the threaded collars and install the original metal spring cup and circlip that came with the shocks. Also, you need to use the rubber insulators that came with the stock springs.

All the Subaru's Ive seen are top-mounted from the factory, and there's plenty of room on top of this engine.

The most disappointing stat I've seen so far: 59.2 mph in 2nd gear. Might work out well for ST(X?)... wonder how high the redline can be bumped?

Re: Course Setup for 4/14-15 Event

Kurt, Since this is a test day before a PRO SOLO, can we please get a Pro-style start included with this course? If not the full-length run like our traditional Pro courses, can we at least remain straight until we make the shift to 2nd? These turns and kinks right off the start gear prevent us from...

This has been a very interesting conversation to follow. But really, who cares ? :heyes: Speaking of the FRS, how did it do when our drivers took it around the course yesterday? We didn't get to stay long enough to watch. It ran... some times.... that were... relatively faster or slower than.... so...

No 500, yet all the other "B-Spec" cars can run?

Yet, the older Toyota Yaris was allowed? As I recall, It's taller and narrower.

Careful on Miatas... they will rub on the inner fender panels with STR tire sizes and camber. On a street-friendly setup and narrower tires, they're fine except they tag the back of the front control arm on full lock.

Steve, before considering such a purchase, consider not only fitting, but getting in and out. It's challenging even for the physically fit. Since I"m not a member of that group, it's double the challenge for me. You definitely won't be changing drivers after every run. :mrt: That said, I do lo...

Interesting. The Southwest corner of the base is where some of the worst ground pollution is: those ramps outside the buildings we drive around on our way in is where the aircraft were solvent-washed to remove exhaust and oil residue, and most of it was just allowed to run off into the ground. There...

This has been a long-standing peeve of mine as well. Coming from Club Racing years ago and knowing what sticklers they are about numbers (with good reason) I've always been amazed at what we allow.

Kurt, if you need backup number-nazi at tech, I'll be glad to do it.

We don't have the man power to run the grid "nationals style". However, we can make it look the same and pull cars from the line in that fashion. All we need to do is make grid look like your typical chevron style parking lot: -------> \ \ \ \ \ \ . ----------> / / / / / / -------> \ \ \ ...

Re: Tired of being penalized for being a single driver car!

If you want to win, buy x-runs, get in the 2-driver lane. If you're worried about tire wear, nobody says you have to take all of them. We may see a day (and we almost did yesterday in group 4) where all of the cars are two driver / X runs. The only way I see to equalize that would be to adapt a &quo...
