Re: March FasTrack
I wonder if anyone on the PAC has any clue about aero when they say stuff like this:
"Ground effect tunnels and/or attempts to gain ground effects are also not authorized."
even a flat plate next to the ground is by definition "in ground effect". That wording effectively prohibits every single car in existence save for a couple high ground clearance off road trucks.

Would "attempts to gain ground effects" prohibit adding rake to your setup?Marshall Grice wrote:I wonder if anyone on the PAC has any clue about aero when they say stuff like this:

More from the PAC,
"The location, number, and shape of vents/louvers is unrestricted provided they are fully contained on allowed panels. For vehicles having original vents/louvers exceeding these dimensions, no further openings are permitted."
How can a OE opening exceed unrestricted!? They should remove the unrestricted and mention the restriction mentioned elsewhere, or better yet, put it all together in one paragraph.

One could make a big dent in that weight reduction by exiting the drivers seat!Steve Lepper wrote:Pickup trucks in SM?

THAT is way cool! Remember the NASCAR-chassis'd pick-up that was here last year with 3 racing seats replacing the bench seat?Robert Puertas wrote:SM pick-ups! Awesome.

The Vetruck... probably a little heavy to be competitive, but it sure would be fun to watch. ;)Ed Holley wrote: THAT is way cool! Remember the NASCAR-chassis'd pick-up that was here last year with 3 racing seats replacing the bench seat?
I just worked with Dean this past weekend and he drove it out to the track Sunday morning.
