It's my lucky day.
Decide to walk up to the grocery store at lunch time. Check my lotto ticket from Saturday and I won $9. Bought four more tickets for the next draws and decide to get a Mocha from the Starbucks in the store. Put in my "preferred saving card" and score again. My next drink, up to $5 value, is free. Elisha, the barista was then kind enough to both lean over and show her boobs and turn her back to me and reach up and grab something which in turn showed the pink thong she was wearing. Got my drink, and started to walk back. That's when I really got lucky...
...I hear a siren coming from behind me that sounded funny. It sounded funny 'cause it was an ambulance being followed by a sheriff's car. Both blaring away. All of a sudden the sheriff's car decides to pass the ambualnce in the right lane. As he does this, the ambulance cuts him off, forcing him up the curb and on to the sidewalk, WHERE I WAS! I move to the left where I hit a 3 foot retaining wall as the car goes past. I don't know how close he got 'cause my back was turned. I did look to my left and watch him slalom a light pole as he got back on the road and kept flying down the road.
Yeah, it's my lucky day...

Wow! Maybe you should spend the rest of the day back at Starbucks, where it's safe.

It's funny, every time I take this same walk, I feel like I'm gonna get killed. Usually it's a truck clipping a corner when I'm waiting for a light to turn green. Even scarier is that my uncle was killed by a car on a walk a couple of months ago. Makes the treadmill at 24 Hour Fitness look that much more appealing...

Vineyard in Cucamonga, just south of Foothill. The intersection of these two streets is usually where the trucks cut the corner.Bob Beamesderfer wrote:What street was this on?

I learned to stand back from certain corners in downtown LA where the buses turned.

Did the squad car have a decal on the back: "If you don't like the way I drive, get off the sidewalk!"
Jokes aside, yes, thankfully you were lucky.....gotta watch out no matter when you think you have the right-of-way!

This just goes to show you the importance of boob and thong watching. If that had been a male barista, you might have been killed. I for one, am pledging from this day forward, that in order to protect my life and the lives of those around me, to spend extra time in this endevor. It's our duty as Americans. ;)Curt Luther wrote:Decide to walk up to the grocery store at lunch time. Check my lotto ticket from Saturday and I won $9. If it had been a male barista, he might have died right at the boob and thong showings!George Schilling wrote:If that had been a male barista, you might have been killed.

What do you mean by "from this day forward"? Ya ain't kiddin' me, George. You would have completely been missed by the car 'cause you would STILL be at the Starbucks. I almost got hit 'cause of my porno...er...photographic memory banking what I saw and my haste to get back to internet troll...er...work.George Schilling wrote: This just goes to show you the importance of boob and thong watching. Yeah, I'm goin' to the gym later. Always a free show there. Although the free show in the men's locker room can be scary :barf:George Schilling wrote:BUMMER }:)Curt Luther wrote:Just got back from the same walk as yesterday: no free show from the barista
