Hoist a cold one...
I'm typing this message right now, hoisting a cold one in honor of Tom Tanquary's father who joined Carlin, Russert et al this afternoon, checking off the planet. Please join me and let Tom, Nicole and family know our thoughts are with 'em.

Let's not forget Craig. So sorry to hear about your Dad, Tom. If there's anything I can do just let me know. I'm still in limbo, but I'm there for ya.

And a raised glass from Topeka. I didn't know him, but if he's reflected at all in Tom, he must have been a helluva a guy.

Many thanks to all of you for your support. It's never easy closing a chapter of your life.
Dad was a WW2 vet, 1st Lt. Army Air Corp on Iwo Jima, in charge of reloading and fixing weapons on P-38s and B-29s, so he got an honor guard salute. These poor guys could barely pull it off. Two of the rifles jammed, one guy never got the gun to his shoulder to fire, although taps sounded good. At the end one of the guys just let his rifle fall to the ground and he drug it by the strap across the grass to his car. Kinda sad. But they are all a band of brothers until the last one goes. One last moment of pride.
