Re: 2008 Ladies School
How about if he can bring his 15.5 year old daughter out who has a learners permit?

Learners permit is fine as long as we have a licensed adult driver in the car at all times.

Re: 2008 Ladies School
Most of the loaners run a little big, so the fit might not be any better than your's. If you KNOW she's going to do it more than once it might just be worth it to buy a cheap one.Michael Henderson wrote:My wife is hoping to attend the event, but I have a couple of questions
1) She doesn't have a helmet. Should she wear mine (not a great fit), will there be loaners, or does she need to buy one?
2) Where can we see the registrant list? Gotta make sure my check got there in time.
Thanks. See you on the 29th.
Here's some $25 Snell M2000's (likely good for another 8 years) you can probably still pick up at a bell store (one in Costa Mesa):

Stacey is participating in the 'driving' part of the event, so I will have to pretend to have absolutely no interest in bikinis and wet t-shirts.

Re: 2008 Ladies School
Michael, I suggest she use your helmet. As Steve notes the loaner helmets have some smelly mega-jungle fury thing going on.Michael Henderson wrote:My wife is hoping to attend the event, but I have a couple of questions

I'm hoping Renee posts in the thread about our current registrants.

Re: 2008 Ladies School
First of all, I've only received 2 phone calls and spoken to both of those people. I don't know who you are talking about Mako. However, as of this point there are a total of 15 entires and NO ONE will be turned away. That's always been the case for the Ladies School.
If anyone is interested in the school - just send your check to me per the flyer.

Re: 2008 Ladies School
I will be happy to instruct until 1 or 2 p.m. George and I leave for a 14 day Cruise to the Panama Canal on the 30th. I am sure by then my ladies can be on their own or maybe I can work something out with another instructor for assistance.

Instead of email, maybe try using the PM feature on here. I like it cuz I can look at messages from whatever computer I'm on.Mako Koiwai wrote:A number of us haven't received any reply's from you concerning our email to you ... for weeks.

I didn't think the Motorcycle helmets were good enough for AutoX. I thought we had to have the SA safety rating.Mako Koiwai wrote:
A SCCA Solo legal M rated helmet can be bought at a motorcycle shop for around $50
Re: 2008 Ladies School
Nope, either one works.

So what ratings are acceptable for AutoX? SA2005 and M2000?

Re: 2008 Ladies School
M95 or better, which means M2000, M2005, SA95, SA2000 and SA2005. There's other not so common ones that are acceptable, but you'll have to look that up. When the next rating comes out, likely 2010, the '95s expire, and so on.Michael Henderson wrote:So what ratings are acceptable for AutoX? SA2005 and M2000?
Many tracks require SA, so if you plan on doing track time an SA might be in your best interest. I like the M's as visability tends to be better.

I'm sending in two applications today... and no neither of them is for me!
BTW what exactly is a "male sponsor"? Someone who chases cones, pays for a ladies entry, encourages an entry, etc.???

Someone who chases cones. As a reward, they are given two runs at the end of the day to try and beat their lady's time.Adrian Covert wrote:I'm sending in two applications today... and no neither of them is for me!

And then when (if) you beat the ladies time, you get dinner paid for but end up having to sleep outsideChristine Berry wrote:Someone who chases cones.
