This was a 71 second run, he later in the day had a couple of 63's. Notice the wave to the main paddock entering the first long slalom....
He's a 5yo pre-schooler sporting a whopping 2hp. Still good for 30mph!
He had two laps where he missed the gate before the finish slalom and looped bck around so he didn't DNF. We never taught him that, he figured it out from watching the adults. But those two laps he was atleast 2 sends ahead of his 63 pace going into that element. Just couldn't hold on to it. Wish I had gotten some video's of the four wheel drifts he had going on those amazing later laps.
The three FJC's had a real battle swapping the FTOD several times through out the day. Cyan is by far the most aggressive at the start of the day. Floor it and go from turn 1, but had some trouble getting a clean run in. Dane is very tentative at first but gets intensively competitive at the very end of the day. Robert is pretty consistent, which is why he's been dominate in the first three laps each month. He does get shocked when somebody steps up and beats his early times and steps it up. Last month Dane got him the last session and Robrt talked about it all month. This month, he wasn't going to let Dane get him again. Each time Dane took it deeper, Robert jumped in the kart and tried harder. The last set, I thought there was no way he'd catch Dane. He was running slower that session 6 seconds off his own pace and 7 off Dane's. He asked what he ran, I told him and asked what was wrong. Nothing he said. "Watch me." He then lit off a 63 and took a second off Dane's time. Brutal competition, but everybody was smiling and happy. So far the competition all seems good spirited and they root each other on to go faster. All good except for that one incident where a father ran in to the trailer and screamed at his son that he was a "LOSER!"..... Well, you had to be there.....

Man o man are the kids going to miss running at El Toro. What a weekend. But daddy is too tired and sore to move!
