Read somewhere that a study showed that traffic circles are actually more efficient than signal controlled intersections, reduce traffic congestion and have fewer accidents. Shouldn't take more than a couple of generations for the average American driver to learn how to do it correctly........

Hasn't worked for drivers in the PCH/Lakewood/Los Coyotes Diagonal circle.Rick Brown wrote:Read somewhere that a study showed that traffic circles are actually more efficient than signal controlled intersections, reduce traffic congestion and have fewer accidents. The Circle encompasses what is probably the least visited park in Long Beach.

I've seen euro's drive traffic circles....
They haven't figured it out either, its one big game of chicken played by braille. Fewer damage claims or injuries maybe.... You aren't going fast enough.

It's all about timing and pointing toward the longest lasting space. Lane lines are meaningless. Worst part about the LB traffic circle is that few understand that those in the circle have right-of-way. :mrt:Steve Ekstrand wrote:I've seen euro's drive traffic circles....

They recently put one in by my local doctor, bank, and post office, and I can see how people now slow way down when going through that intersection.
When there are no cars or pedestrians around, then it is an exercise in precision driving, and if my son is riding we take it for a couple of rounds... }:) if my wife is riding I get a dirty look if I take it even slightly briskly...

I'd say at least half of the moes out there don't understand it when there's a big sign that says "YIELD." There's no way they'd be able to grasp the in-the-circle concept on a roundabout before getting that far-off stare and starting to drool at the corners of their mouths.Bob Beamesderfer wrote:Worst part about the LB traffic circle is that few understand that those in the circle have right-of-way. :mrt:

Nice new F250...
http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/24/2011 ... o-new-eng/ but what is "TBC Grain setting adjusted?"... Perhaps that should display Gain instead of Grain?
As seen in the display on the line below and in this article:
http://media.ford.com/article_display.c ... e_id=31021" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"TBC (Trailer Brake Controller) gain setting adjusted"
Looks like a software upgrade is in order...

Who knew you could take a 1973 Lincoln Continental and turn it into a Batmobile. Well, a rich Swedish guy, who is obviously a Batman fanatic, spent 20,000 hrs or 3.5 yrs constructing one of most popular cars from Gotham City. This sleek Batmobile replica comes equipped with a plasma TV, machine guns, DVD player, satellite navigation, voice recognition, height adjustable body, and rear view video cameras. Now if you want to follow suit and build your own superhero car, then you might need to know that this Batmobile was a $1 million dollar effort. .

Wondering if the grappling hook thing for turns would be legal in Modified............
Also if the turbine exhaust melts a cone but it stays in the box, is that a penalty?

Edited to add: the resolution on this is unfortunate. The lack of an HD feed obscures most of Craig's expressions.

guess Kurt asked for me to warn you first... This is "potentially" NSFW, but get your minds out of the gutters and it is perfectly fine for work, like watching a Bowflex commercial:
