The best part now is that the other teams will be psychologically affraid of the US and we now have confidence

The other teams know they can count on the refs to take away one USA goal per game. :unimpressed:

You called this one too Steve. Ghana is the last team I expected to send the US home.

No work done in the first 2 hours of this morning. I even left home late (after the first half was over), then rushed to work so I wouldn't miss much of the 2nd half. What a great game!

Spain vs Portugal.

Great thing about World Cup are the old political rivalries. Argentina vs England right after the Falklands War. Spain and Portugal have a 1000 years of rivalry. Maybe they are friends today.... But trust me, in their hearts they want to squash the other...

I feel sorry for the Japanese player that missed that goal. I bet he felt like he let the team down.

I'm not to tickled pink that the usual suspects are bubbling up to the top, I was hoping other countries will have a crack at it :(

I like Argentina and Germany. Diego Maradona was my favorite player in World Cup 94 even past his prime.
Never been a Brazil fan although obviously they are good.

That flying ninja kick to the chest should have been a red card

Come on Sergio send one into the net for Spain.

the best part is his reaction right after the whistle, with his hands out, palms up, like "what? what'd i do?!?!".. }:)

karma, spain won.. i fell asleep watching it though, the pace was horrible with all the whistles.

This is not over people...the Womens under 20 world cup is going on. Mexico is playing Korea right now.

Warning before tuning in to ESPN! This is not tennis, these ladies are not easy on the eyes ;) but they play some damn good soccer.
