Very thorough, Steve! Thanks for the explanation...gives a lot of insight into the complexity of policing these things, and the level of sturm und drang present in the top ranks of amateur motorsports.

Steve
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'm curious about my own engine..... Where exactly do you look to find these marks?
Thanks

I believe the numbers are:
Just in back of the #1 cyl & in back of the valve cover, just next to the back of the timing belt cover...between the first injector and the back of the timing belt cover. They're very faint and need to be clean in order to see them.

That's funny, because while watching the results on sololive I was thinking a ST civic would make a really good start to a SMF build.Jonathan Lugod wrote:lets all move to SMF... problem solved
How hard would it be to get 200 lbs out of the car?
Add those little 13x9 wheels and Hoosiers, a lsd and about 50 hp and you'd have a ridiculously fast car.

I hear the winning SMF car was a mid-90's Civic with an S2000 motor swap.

Agreed (on both counts). You definitely (and I'm being serious) should submit your name to be on the STAC.Tom Berry wrote:2 points here:

A provisional class that isn't making it's entry requirement numbers at nationals probably isn't where you want to throw your money.. EP on the other hand.. ;)Robert Puertas wrote:That's funny, because while watching the results on sololive I was thinking a ST civic would make a really good start to a SMF build.Jonathan Lugod wrote:lets all move to SMF... problem solved

He ran the K20 in the past, but now it's the K24. I've seen him post on a few different sites, but nothing specific. Will Kalman wrote:I hear the winning SMF car was a mid-90's Civic with an S2000 motor swap.
