Great video, I really miss Riverside. Great course, love the run off. We have better safety equipment in our autocross cars, got to love the thinking behind rollbars that are shorter than the drivers head.

Awesome, Mako...brought back some great memories. I got to run on a portion of Riverside at a press event for the 1990 Isuzu Impulse when they had torn part of the track down already. But at least I got to go through turns 6 & 7! I still have a gift-boxed chunk of asphalt from the track, one of my most cherished possessions!

I shared the video with a few co-workers, and they loved it!

Wow, that brings back memories! I was likely at that race, was a big Gurney fan and had a friend that worked at All American Racers. Went to virtually every Times Grand Prix of that era. Usually had infield tickets which allowed you to get closer to the track, especially in turn 6. Never got to drive on it (other than a parade lap), but did work as a flagger for Solo 1 races in the '70's and after one of the races the drivers gave rides to us. Got a ride in a pretty quick Datsun 510. Sad day when they tore it down.

Our first house was on Penske St. next to the raceway. Only participated in a drag race there but wish I had been able to drive on the track. Great vid. Mako!
