Any experience NEO fluids? Where to get them locally?

Post by Christos Adam »

I heard from a friend that the NEO 75w90 RHD is the best tranny fluid and it helps preventing gearbox damages during abuse }:) (btw I blew my tranny on the last day of the pro).

Do you have any experience with them?
Is it worth it?
I'm OK spending big bucks for top end fluids but gee for $200 for two liters of NEO 75w90 RHD it's right there at the same price that I got my second 5-speed off the junkyard. :gpower:

I live in Thousand Oaks (Ventura county) so I was wondering if you know any major place in the valley or in a 15 mile radius that would carry these lubricants... otherwise I guess I can go with the "regular" red line products which I already have in my garage.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem

No idea on the NEO, I don't know anyone running it.

But when we started running the RX-8 I asked the factory Mazda racers what they used, and they turned me on to Pure Power.

I know a lot of RX-8 guys that use other stuff and are on a second or third trans. Ours, 85k miles, five years of autox with two drivers and not a single problem. The only time our trans has even given us a hiccup was when I drained the fluid without checking my Pure Power supply (it comes in a 5 gal bucket), I did not have enough to change it and ended up using another brand of fluid... Nothing but grind when it got hot. Picked up another bucket of the good stuff the next week, changed the fluid, and all was good.

I ran Neo when I had an RX7. It shifted better with Neo vs Redline. No idea about transmission longevity though. Years ago I got it shipped from somewhere in Signal Hill?
