Nice try on the 3D ... what were you using? Main problem is that the two cameras were not locked down enough in relation to each other so that there is both vertical and horizontal displacement. It's impossible for ones eyes to reconcile two different horizons. It looks like you tried to have your Inter Axial distance set to about 30' ? but that too moves around. And then of course your cameras were not in sync.
I've tried using the GoPro 3D set-up, but the IA is locked to about 4', which together with the very wide lenses doesn't produce a very strong 3D effect past the hood.

Re: 10/23 AutoX Sunday Video/Photo Thread
The rig I used is one made of two Canon point and shoot camera, mounted side by side (one upside down) so the lenses are about 3" apart. I made the rig to do stereographic photography I never intended to shoot video with and it wasn't made to be strapped to the roof of a car, but I had it with me that day so I thought it would be fun to give it a try. I don't have a pair of 3D glasses so I wasn't able to view this in the anaglyph (blue/red) video, but I made another video that uses the crossview method (the one where you go crosseyed and focus overlap of your left and right eyes) and while it was difficult to hold a focus with all the shacking I was able to see a 3D effect. Not sure what you mean about them being out of sync, the two camera where synced up with a horn beep and a hand clap so they are within a field of each other, and I don't notice the two images out of sync watching it without glasses.Mako to wrote:Nice try on the 3D ... what were you using?
