Costa Mesa R&D Automotive

Post by Arthur Grant »

Calling on the gear heads here. Anyone have experience with Costa Mesa R&D Automotive. Anyone know John Edwards? Looking at some of his stuff on the internet looks interesting, not sure about affordable. My vette is likely ready for an overhaul and I like the idea that this shop runs the core of the engine before final assyembly for initial break in. Figure someone in this group would know weather the shop is worth looking into or is a place to stay away from. Any experience you have that you can share is appreciated. PM's or e-mail are fine.

Especially interested if anyone here has had this shop work on an engine they autocross with.

Thanks

John is pretty well known in CSCC. Drives the #903 Fiat Sedan (has a spyder, too) and makes great guacamole! Can't attest to his skills personally, but lots of video on youtube of his work (user fiatnutz).

Is he the guy with the little white fiat sedan?

Yep. Very talented in the shop. (How could he not be with his love of Fiats?)

John has rebuilt our evo engine a couple of times now. No complaints here.
