Stickering

Post by Bill Martin »

I have a friend in the graphics business and he showed me a pretty slick way to apply decals. With the Tour coming up I thought I'd share.

Bend back a small right and left corner before you start. Then masking tape the sticker where you want it with two pieces on the left and two at the center. Step back and verify that's where you want it (he uses tape measure). Now lift right side away from the car and peel off the lining. With scissors, cut away the right side lining and smooth the right side sticker down to the car starting from the center. Now remove all tape, pull the left side away from the car and peel away the remaining liner. And from center to left smooth that half onto the car. You get to precheck the placement and nothing can shift.
