A lot of cars with non steel (or heavily bondo'ed) body panels use the static cling numbers/letters.

thanks! maybe I can use some of it but apparently the z's doors are not made of steel (aluminum it seems). my old numbers only sick to the fenders and not the doors!

i guess i'm going to have to look up the rules for numbers and class letters size and placement.

guy

PS: minimalistic, but rules eligible, numbers (8" high with 1.25" stroke) and class letters (4" high with 0.75" stroke) might fit on the fender between the front wheels and the door... i'm open to suggestions for door placement though! what do corvettes do?

And I use magnetic numbers on non-magnetic surfaces with double-stick tape. I like double-stick masking tape from McMaster. Reason to use the magnetic material is it's tough enough to remove/reuse repeatedly. And easy to buy.

hmm... i'll try this.

is there a particular type of double-stick tape? foam? I'm sure it can't be too thick or the wind would get behind the numbers.

We like the Tacky numbers from iZoom.com

Static cling doesn't work in our opinion.

Important to keep the surface very cling with the tacky numbers

And it looks about as good as it sounds.

Mako's izoom stuff is about the best I've seen, I still haven't had any luck duplicating it. Static works long term ONLY IF you're clinically obsessed with keeping things clean, straight and well stored (see Samanyi).
