Re: 2009 Solo National Championships, Sept 5th-11th
It started to rain during SS ... ruining the race for most of the first day top finishers.
Many of the top drivers didn't bother taking all of their 2nd day runs ... drag to spend all that time and money to go to Nationals and have it ruined by rain ... but it happens to some group at every Nationals it seems.

Yea, that's why I posted. Didn't see Braun on the list and Kotsian jumped to the top (rain tires?).

As the slogan for the defunct ABC Wide World of Sports went
DAMN IT!
I was really hoping Bill would get this (no pun intended) monkey off his back.

Jeff Wong bags a trophy in the hyper-competitive ST field...
Ken was 7th, and Stephen 16th.

Jeff and Nicole both did great, I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but I'll say it again: Winning a trophy at your first Nats is a real acheivement.Steve Ekstrand wrote:Jeff Wong bags a trophy in the hyper-competitive ST field...
Ken was 7th, and Stephen 16th.

On another note, the saying "sound like a broken record" will soon "go the way of the Dodo". I'm not sure my son has even seen a record player, let alone heard a broken record.

My 19 year old is totally into record players/records ... although I don't understand it! OK, a really high end recorder player and new records ... but a cheap record player and used records like he has?! Crack Pop and Hiss !

Seriously though the ST action sure didn't make my next tire choice any easier...what to do? Flip a coin? Shortest straw?

Congrats to the SoCal champs and trophy winners from day one/two.
...although, NorCal seems to have represented pretty darn well, also!
I particularly want to give props to Ben Martinez from up here. Lots of you guys/gals know Ben, he is probably the best driver I know of who hadn't won at Nationals...now, he owns a jacket. If you also know anything about the trials/tribulations and hard work behind that Merkur, the accomplishment becomes even sweeter...
Signed,

Re: 2009 Solo National Championships, Sept 5th-11th
So that was young Ryan B's FIFTH National Title ... I think he had a couple of ES titles to go with his three CS ones ... plus 2005 SCCA SOLO DRIVER OF THE YEAR
Is KJ driving his own car ... does he have a co-driver?
Tomorrow we also get to "watch" Rad, Henry & Nick, Max, Guy, Pete, Mihai, Tom, Marshall, Jason, Jason, Reijo ... and who else?
