Another cancelled golf day I was looking forward to. I guess I can save my r-compounds now. :unimpressed:
Only a 40% chance....We'll see if Rains are really needed or not.
Partial wet conditions are good practice though, especially for you Greg being newish to R Comps.
I'll be bringing my R comp rains if you want to compare times }:)

Won't I be screwed if I'm caught driving in the rain to/from the event on r-compounds?

If you crash, no, DOT legal.
Thought you were borrowing my tire tail?

What are you going to do for SD and ProSolo National events? Better have a plan to get your tires to those events ....
Yeah ... some people have remarked that getting caught in the rain on the fwy with R's was a bit
Perhaps you can gauge the weather and if necessary drive out Friday if it's not raining ... compared to Sat. morning?

Crashing is no good. :mrt:
If I'm not playing golf on Friday, I'll probably have time to get my hitch installed. We'll see.

Any (older) Porsches in here?
Probably not. You need to hook up with the Orange Coast Region of PCA. They have a very good autocross program that runs every month at the old El Toro MCAS. They also do several time trial/track day events each year. There is a driver clinic on Sat. Feb 20 and an ax the next day.

But the BEST AX'ing is with us, your local SCCA club. LOT's of National Level drivers and Champs, ie. we have our own top of the line development program. According to the message thread on the Practice Entry List, you can probably still get into Saturday's Practice, besides Sunday always being open to walk ups. At least come out of Saturday to get free rides with us ... and see what it's all about. There are usually a couple of GT3 and/or Caymans/Boxers running with us.

Yup, I'm already signed up. Can't wait. I've been dabbling around at Willow Springs and Button Willow, but this seems like a lot of fun, too!

Great ... please take advantage of our many outstanding drivers. Imagine doing a Basketball Clinic, where you get Koby to go one on one with you! If you aren't driving or working, you should be getting rides with other drivers. Practice events are like that ... if the passenger seat isn't taken while you're going around the grid, ask for a ride. While you're running, have one of our hot shoes do a run in your car to give you a target time. Seeing what they can do with your car will give you a lot of confidence in it ... and will surely bring down your times.
Remember to run with extra tire pressure (maybe 38/38 to start with) ... have a pressure gauge with you so you can bleed off air as the tires heat up. You might be able to do a bit of handling tuning with air pressures. Typically add pressure to the end that is giving away first.

Exactly. Nothing wrong with the regular sticker. It has 6 check boxes. You put a single line in it the first time, a second line to make an X the next time and you get 12 runs. There are colored dot stickers in the CTV for run groups.

Here is the revised/corrected sticker - actual size 1" X 2 5/8th" - Avery Label 8160

Mako's right. Not my intent to push you away from our group, just wanted to give a Porsche friendly alternative.
Run/Work CSM?

I was looking for California Street Modified (CSM) run work for Feb 7th. It doesn't seem to be on the Run/Work list.

Fixed, no one ran it last time so it slipped through.

I've tried that. It doesn't work. Too many people working grid who can't seem to follow directions. However, next time we order tech stickers, why don't we get them with 12 check boxes so they can be effectively used as practice stickers as well.
The colored dots don't work very well either. By lunch time, half of them have blown off the windshield.

This seems as good a place as any to post this....
Is anyone attending this Saturday's practice able to pick up a display and timer box from me in Porter Ranch and take it to the event with them? I can bring it to you during the week, too.

Will, if you can drop it (or meet me halfway with it), I can take it. I'm in the Pasadena area.

Thanks Kurt - but that's still 70 miles round-trip for me and I'm still hoping someone will be driving by here during the week or on their way to the event.

You can drop it off at my office in North Hollywood and I can bring it unless someone even closer chimes in.

Well, we just got new stickers, about 3-4 years worth. You don't put the colored dots on the windshield, you put them on the tech sticker.

I'll be driving down Friday night from Santa Barbara and could go the slightly longer way and shoot by Porter Ranch. It would probably be around 7-8pm Friday night.
Edit: Probably closer to 8pm, maybe even later depending on when I leave work.

I can't seem to Register both Karen and I ... using Firefox
I can only seem to register one of us ... which would mean no multi driver discount.
Does it have anything to do with Karen being GRA and myself being Blew ?
Also, when I try to register sometimes it says Non-Member/$25, other times it says Member/$30 ?!
In the past we've also had trouble with only one of us having Paid showing up on the Registered Print Out. I was hoping to avoid having to bring the PayPal invoices this year
