And for those running in SK1/2, I emailed the guy to ask if they would be paying out contingency money for the SK1/2 classes and he said they would:
Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your message. I will honor the contingency for the SK classes at the San Diego Tour and El Toro Pro. Good luck and thanks for considering Kumho tires for your racing effort!

Kind regards,
Rudy Consolacion
Motorsports Manager
Kumho Tire USA, Inc.
Also of note, the award is doubled for non-R-comp tires, meaning a first place in an SK class would be $600.

WOW that's great! If that doesn't get people motivated to join the class nothing will.

I checked but got mixed signals. The Irvine police guard the place and the watch commander said to get permission of the tenant. But Ken said his understanding was it wasn't allowed. So...dunno.

I remember Hollis stayed at El Toro, but got busted when he tried to jog off the base.

He didn't stay on site, he stayed at Trabuco Canyon, but he did get hauled back to the site while trying to go for a 10 mile run... he had to run laps around the area we were using.

See you all in May!

Stupid Question of the day. Since I have paid the entry fee and were inside one week is it possible to substitue drivers. I am a staff photographer to the LBGP, there was some question about the team set up this year but I have been notified I am shooting. Obviously there is a conflict?

Thanks

There are currently only 3 BSP entries. What class would BSP get rolled up into if classes were combined?

For your first question you will have to call the SCCA national office to find out about substituting drivers.(talk to Nancy Downing) My guess is it probably won't be allowed.
-----------------
Open Bump Index Classes; two classes formed from open classes not meeting the ProSolo® minimum class size.
1. B1 – AS, BS, CS, DS, ES, FS, GS, HS, ST, STS
2. B2 – SS, STR, STX, STU, F125, Street Prepared (all), Street Modified (all), Race Tire Index (all)

So BSP goes to B2, which has happend at almost every ProSolo for the last couple of years.

Thank you Christine. Appreciate the help.

I know this sounds wierd but I would rather come out and race, that shoot the LBGP.

I am supposed to work the LBGP also. Full access. Hang out with the crews and cars and see it all from the pits. But I would rather do the Pro also, though I wish I could do both. I am sending two people from ChaseCam to the LBGP on Friday. I will be doing practice starts. :)

If anyone is still looking to share hotel costs, I have a room at the Crowne Plaza Irvine (~10 min from El Toro) that I would be willing to share for $50 for both nights...

Thats to funny...

Earlier when reading the post, I was wondering why he was sending Chasecam to a Lesbian Bi and Gay Parade. Only after seeing an email about the Long Beach Grand Prix, did I put two and two together. Then returning to read your post with the straight comment, I was ROTFLOL

I know this is a little late, but I will in at the El Toro Pro and am looking for a ride.

I will be at the event on Friday morning. Let me know if you have an open seat.

Thanks,

Darrin DiSimo

FWIW,

If anyone is still looking for a place to stay I just made a reservation directly from Candlewood Suites website (NOT Priceline) for $47.99 per night with the "Entertainment book" rate, at the Irvine Spectrum location.

Darrrin is a Top Flight National Competitor and knows EVERYTHING about ProSolo - he's the guy that designed the comp. software for the Pros. Any new people would be WELL SERVED to offer the little wop (sorry, Darrin, I had to say something)a ride with you.

Finally got around to reading the ProSolo rules.... :computer:

Damn....

You can't have a single car in 3 classes. I'm in ST, Tadd is in STX, and Stacey is in L1. Just three drivers, but all in separate classes. I guess that is a no-no. Glad neither Tadd nor I have a co-driver. But I can't offer Darren a ride, and it may change my thinking for Wendover. Now.... Should I move Tadd to ST, or should I go sniping the easy competition in STX?

ST beat STX by 1.7 seconds????

And in SD by 6 tenths.

I stand corrected. Then the choice is easy :) You and Tadd run in STX and bag you some easy prosolo throphies
