Atleast KJ and Seb have cute wives.... Max can't claim that defense.

The roval laps at lunch were awesome! I was wearing a helmet because, while parked in the pit lane waiting to go, an SCCA official walked by, saw my helmet sitting in the passenger seat, and suggested that because I was in a convertible, it might be a good idea to wear the helmet. I was right behind Mako and was surprised to hit a little over 90 on the start-finish section.
I really need to learn how to brake without ABS though. The 80 mile drive home was not too enjoyable with flat spotted tires :unimpressed:

Thanks to all for putting on such a well organized practice event. It was great to see so many of my SoCal friends and I'll look forward to seeing you guys at SD and El Toro (hopefully!).

Seb is in Team Blew, so it can't be that much of a shock....
I can't explain KJ.

Sure it was a small lot but Jason, Mike, and Mako made the most of it. It was surprisingly fun to drive. The loop was a feature we don't often see but it drove like an entirely new element instead of simply repeating one. Very clever. I had all the runs I wanted. It was very good day.
Thanks, Jason, and everyone that helped.

Hi everyone...I showed up yesterday and rode along for several laps in Ken Lord's Miata and two different S2000's (I'm in the market...)
Anyway it was my first autocross event and I just wanted to say it was great...everyone was really friendly and welcoming to a newbie.
I'll be back once I can figure out which car to buy...cheers.

Kudos to Jayson for making this happen. He came up with the idea, he pushed for approval *and* he designed the course and served as Event Chair throughout the weekend.
I'm glad to hear everyone had a good time. I know many of our "veteran drivers" weren't there, but Toby Larsson did make it on Sunday and said he had a great time, and Steve Abbot attended both days... which should tell you the course was a good challenge. This was not only a nice welcome for newbies but a great test and tune event early in the season for some of us who are changing our cars.
Thank you Jayson!
Mike

I had a great time too. I had some new shocks on Saturday and actually played with the knobs. I was not impressed with the new shocks. I was not planning on going Sunday, but I got this wild idea about 4:30a.m. to change back to my stock shocks to go back out for a comparison. To my amazement the aftermarket shocks seem better. Good thing I didn't throw them in the trash.
Thanks for the fun weekend.

Great job event Chiefs this weekend!! BIG thanks for your efforts.
Felt weird just being a participant this time
Good course for me to learn my new car.... Only had 2 maybe 3 super tight corners, otherwise good fun. Patience there was key.
New car is good even on mediorce tires, Re050's. Hoosiers/Kumho's are next. Can't wait....
Was able to crank out a 52.46 on Sun. just before lunch for comparisons sake.

Thanks to everyone who came out.
Weather both days threatened, but never more than a little tickel of mist for more than 30minutes. Nice and cool with a cold breaze on Sunday.
Course came out pretty neat. I had one pet element, the loop, then left the rest of my design up to mako and mike to adjust/redraw any way they wanted. The loop came out just like I wanted, drove totally different the second time around. There was also a nice element of speed in the middle of the course if you had the grip and talent to say committed. Top times were 51 for Abbot's vette on Sat and 45ish for the FSAE kids on Sunday.
By the way, the PFM FSAE car is sounding and looking VERY healthy.
Track tours were awsome. Saturday's ride was a lot more spirited than Sunday's, but a blast none the less. Not knowing what to expect it was great to hear all the autoxers actually squelling with joy as we returned off the track.
We got a tremendous amount of help Sunday afternoon cleaning up, mostly from enthuestic people I've never met. I think we got out of there in record time. Stopped running at 4, RV left the lot at 4:35, I was out the front gate at 5 and got to wear my sunglasses all the way home.
Thanks again for all the help and all the entries, hopefully we can turn this into at least an annual thing.

Fun course for the small space
was hitting the rev limiter on the straight
flawless event, well except for the timing lights, but i
don't really consider that a flaw anymore.
Nice of them to let us on the Roval.
Lots of new faces.
Steve A still untouchable even with stock shocks.
thanks

First let me explain the pic...I was modeling Shauna's new Vixen Racing tank top, as you can see it fits me just right and exposes just the slightest amount of midriff. Obviously it is way too big for Shauna.
Second, I'm sorry I missed out, it looks like a great weekend was had be everyone. Great job Jayson!

I had so much fun. Thanks to all involved for putting this on!!!
My transmission decided to scatter a bearing (I think) on the last run of the day. At least it waited until then... I was really going to have to struggle to stay awake on the drive home instead I got a nice ride in a warm tow truck! Anybody have a side-shift 914 transmission sitting around?

You can admit to yours, but I'm claiming that mine was a very good photoshop.

Anyone go to the Data Aq seminar that was held for Cal Club members there on Saturday? Looked like it would be interesting.
