I didn't use them but that's because I couldn't. The wheels I used were bored for a Honda and the diameter was only 2.5 mm larger than a Miata hub.

Hey Jeff,
The taper of the lug nuts and seats in the wheel pretty much center everthing....the hub rings are just the ultimate guarantee of concentricity. Should work fine without them (especially at autocross speeds).
