Lets see
First year in collage, lived, worked and went to school on campus through the summer. My '91 Nissan pick up saw only 3000miles that year. Learned what an engineer is. My one and only 'womanizing' year, dorm life was awsome. Learned C programming language (not C++) and simple HTML (Geocities ROCKED!). Rich kid in my dorm bought a computer with a 1 GIGAbyte hard drive (what's a gigabyte?).

BTW, just the other day FSN played a 'classic' dodger game from 1995. I wasn't so bothered that they called it 'classic', but I was bothered that you could see distinctive style changes in peoples hair and dress.

Nah, that's like saying "I have a sock," but not putting it in your too-tight-in-the-thigh pants; or "I have a gold medallion," but leaving it in the glove box. It's just not the same.

Was driving car #5, a leased 1995 Eagle Talon TSI, totally clueless to any SCCA activity back then.
Living in my home state of MI, working at a fast paced CAD software company, PTC.

Car was scary to launch, not quite enough torque to break the wheels loose, lots of booomy noise when attempted. Only attempted once.

You could call it the 90's EVO for all intents and purposes.

Not my actual car pictured...

'96 on the internet from home.... sort of... using Softshare "Link for Windows" Modem dial up access, via Softshare onto the internet for Government contract bidding for our home based business Naylor & Naylor Magazine Subscription Agency. (Beta-Tested PacBell's Internet service in early '97)

Driving a '91 Geo Prizm GSi. Autocrossed my first event in Nov. '96 at the Q. (Wife wouldn't allow me to run the Integra till 2000.)

Playing MS Monster Truck madness, MS Flight simulator, and Railroad Tycoon. Had some car racing games, but can't recall what they were (probably some Need for Speed version or another), as I recall having them back to the commodore days.

I was playing Magic: The Gathering and buying and selling rares and uncommons.

I remember always convincing people that my interpretation of the rules on the cards was the correct interpretation.

there's this guy from the dorms (you may even know him, i guess he was big in that community, Yan Ebyam) he used to take off on friday afternoon, disappear for the weekend to a magic tournament, and then come back on sunday with like 2-3k in cash.

i only remembered his name because his parents were hippies.. named him Yan because it stood for "yes and no", and his last name backwards spells maybe

Yeah, this guy?
Someone wrote:had a friend in college named Yan Ebyam.

he was taking 38 units a quarter (16 is considered full time) doing triple major of math, physics, and mechanical engineering.

interesting guy.. watched as his best friend threw himself in front of a train... blamed me for "stealing" a girlfriend he never had. went to filipines to set up their first cable ISP, made 4 million bucks, and then driven out of the country at gun point... now he sits around in San Jose buying out parts companies and reselling stuff.

point is, not all f'd up names mean f'd up lifes.. :shifty:

Yan never finished any of his majors.. did 2 years of that and then moved to the filipines. he also never studied, and just got A's.. he spent the weekends down in San Diego and Anaheim at Magic the gathering tournaments or something, winning money to pay for his school.. it was kinda sickening.. >_<

Magic cards ... don't remind me ... how much we spent on those cards and trying to buy some obscure cards on eBay for my son! ... $50, sealed in Lucite ?! Use to take him to those tournaments in City of Commerce. Practice matches at that gaming place in Sherman Oaks.

He made a few million dollars, left at gunpoint, BUT wasn't shot. What's bad about that?

well, it was a bit more complicated than that.

he spent 2 years there, and basically felt like he lost 10 years of his life. when he's not working, he was trapped inside..

i guess the money would have been nice though..

Pretty funny that Monster Truck Madness comes up.... The disc is sitting on my desk right now. Robert found the disc somewhere was trying to play it with his PS3 console. This on is actually Monster Truck Madness2.

Hmmm...'96 got laid off from a pretty cool job. Brunswick Defense in Costa Mesa. Essentially it was a hobby shop for small time but pretty neat military stuff. Driving a 1992 Dodge minivan, which at that time was probably the fastest, best handling car I'd ever owned. Use your imagination as to what preceeded that. Can you say "Custom Cruiser" station wagon. OMG!

I really, REALLY like my Corvette.

Lol. My Monster Truck Madness came bundled with some IRL game that Bob Varsha narrated and the wheel and pedal set.
