Benefits:
1.) Just like in a pro, we would earn points in our own respective class, assuming sometime over the year we meet the class requirements, to get our average.
2.) We can generate points for our club in each of the "Team" points. (which we can't without a class) This is kinda important since we need to designate our "team" for one of them before the event starts, and can't perdict a class that typically exists, has only one car for the day (also lessens the likelihood of clubs hand picking a class to have a driver run, just to score 100 points as one club did last event (in my personal opinion, that was unsportsmanlike of them [flame suit on]).
3.) We have the same opportunity to "trophy" or receive solo bucks as any other class, just because we have a car that requires a class no-one else runs, or perhaps no-one else show's for an event.
I use we, because all of the above happened to me last event, and kinda sucks to have no particular reason to run that day. I'm sure others who are in, or have been in the same shoe's probably have felt the same. To get my average above all I needed to do was putts around the course and acquire a valid time, as I can't even contribute to my clubs points either.
