Check out STS. I know it's hard to keep track of me lately, I've probably driven 10 different cars this year. 8-) You should kill it in STU Tom!

BTW, I haven't booked a hotel... doesn't seem to be any cheap options left. Anyone have recommendations?

The cheapest option is to stay on-site in a tent - $40 for the entire stay......just arrange for showers with whomever might be handy with a motel/hotel. May not be the most comfortable but price would be good.....

Also, there might be something nearby outside of Lincoln I thought I heard about....see if I can find something....we booked a long time ago....

Motel 6 and Quality Inn at the airport should have some rooms as we just canceled our (3) rooms. :( Too much in extra fees and one co-driver having to drop out

I will be in Lincoln, NE this week. I wish it was during Nationals so I could cheer everyone on. I will drive by the site though.

I wasn't anticipating posting this until AFTER this year's Nationals, but...

As some of you probably already know, Eric and I will be chairing Nationals in 2010. This year, we are serving as Assistant Chairs. There is no unimportant job at an autox (ever had anyone discover something unsafe with your car? ever had a phantom cone called on you? ever experienced a timing error? ever had a smoking run going when you were red flagged? ever had a cone down on course that you didn't hit?), but at an event the size of Nationals, there are a ton of specialty jobs to be covered.

My post-Nationals posting was to ask anyone with any interest in learning one of these jobs or reprising a job they had done before to please let me know, so we could start thinking about 2010 well in advance.

Well....there have been some changes to who is coming for 2009, and as a result, we have some holes in the chiefs positions for this year.

If you will be at Nationals on the specified days and if you have some interest in one of these positions, please EMAIL me. (I'm not often on the message board, so MariSCCA @ charter . net is a much better way to reach me.)

Grid Chiefs: 2 for Tuesday/Wednesday and 1 for Thursday/Friday
Chief of Waivers
Operating Steward: 4 for Tuesday Wednesday
Radio Chief (must be a morning person, must run Thursday/Friday)

I just got back from Lincoln Nebraska. I found out that the Husker Football team has their games at Home in Lincoln on September 5th and 12th. The game always sells out and all the hotels are usually booked. If you haven't made reservations, you need to do so as soon as possible!!! People fly in from all over for these games. They are very loyal fans. Also, the state fair will be going on.

Also, if you or your family need something to do, the State Capital Building is very beautiful. They have tours every hour. There are many mosaics and paintings inside. Even the outside of the building is also nice with many carvings. The building is in downtown. I doubt you will need something to do, but I thought I would throw this out. The address is 1445 K street, Lincoln NE; (402) 471-0448.

The building is also near the Historic Haymarket, which has many restaurants. The Haymarket is in the vicinity of 9th and P streets in downtown.

Good luck everyone!!!!!

"Ernie's Svc Sinclair at 4000 A St. in the middle of Lincoln. 100 octane into the car if you like. Higher octanes into containers. Call them @ 402-489-6400. Also, for those driving through KC to Lincoln (I-29 north from KCI) there is PickUp & Race Haven. Call them @ 816-232-7373. Pumps ONLY into containers. Leave a bit of 100 for me, okay? Y'all can call them and make your own arrangements."

Getting closer and closer! I looked at a weather report...

And didn't really like it much, so I looked at couple more...

http://www.weathercentral.com/weather/u ... ncoln.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.wunderground.com/US/NE/Lincoln.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then again, this is the midwest we are talking about here, roll the dice and see what kind of weather we actually get.

Anyone have directions to get into the site? Can't seem to find them on the SCCA site. The place is so big if I try a 'loop around' it might take 30minutes.

+1 to that, I may have to tell a cab driver where to go, and saying somewhere across the runway won't cut it.....
