Sometimes JLB Motorsports in Corona has some of our high performance tires in stock.

Do you know which size tires to get?

Suby's usually want a VERY large FRONT sway bar ... not a big rear bar. Suby's aren't "real" race cars and don't necessarily respond to the usual race car set-ups. Since they lean so much, thus taking away what little front camber they have, they respond well to the big front bar to keep the front end flatter. By big we mean around 27 to 32 mm. No use trying to reinvent the Suby set-up!

Eric Sung, VERY fast RS driver, use to do a lot of course tuning by changing his front and rear toe after his course walks. Especially adding more toe out in the rear for tighter course.

The Hankook RS-3 is also a very promising tire to consider
+1 for JLB Motorsports

-1 For Mako's tuning advice.
I think front sway bars depend on the level of prep. In Stock where you can't change springs, I agree you need a big FSB.
In ST where you can use stiff springs, you don't need as much bar. On my WRX I had stiff spings and a stock FSB, If I were to continue to develop it I would try no FSB.

The dunlops will turn even a Stock subaru into a Class winner  , Getting as much front Negitive camber as you can ,will help the turn in , and front tire wear on the subie. :barf:

I'm not sure about a stock subie being a class winner in STL, Tom. Lily, Shauna, and Nicole have shown times that I think are beyond anything I've seen at Nationals relative to open class. That includes National champs like Katie Elder, Julie Avard, and Megan Young. If you can win STL in SoCal, I declare you now the absolute odds on favorite to win in Lincoln. And yeah, I'm factoring in first heat cold.

I was assuming she had stock springs when I suggested the BIG front bar. Of course Springs are better then bars ...

OK Katiannas 2.5rs is still on its rally suspension so even at its lowest setting is to high so in the future we will install shorter progressive springs, we will also install new front and rear sway bars, looking for 19mm front and 24 mm rears
once the car is handling then we will make the car go faster with some power, The Subi had over 130.000 miles and maybe has 140hp and is pretty heavy, its tough for Kati competing against lighweight Hondas with more power and weighing 1000 lbs less but Kati is a great driver , so If I can make the car handle I know she will get close to the hondas time wise, new tires will also help a LOT as her tires are bald!! If anyone knows where I can get some of these parts for her car let me know :)
see you sat at El Toro
Leon
ps ask Kati about her ride last weekend in the drift car:) Twin turbo Corvette powered 350Z:) 550 whp!!!!

Ah ha ... will she still be rally'ing the car?

Typically you don't want to use progressive springs ...

I would "talk" to Marcos on how his ST Impreza is set-up if she wants to go with a Solo set-up. I'll pm you his email address.

Yeah, for the limited travel we run, progressives just don't work. I could see how in rally maybe they'd be great.

Most of the top hondas in the country are doing 110-120 WHP on a 108 factory rating. But yeah we are a ton lighter (or a half ton in this case!). Weights are in the 1965-2040 range for the top cars. 91's are a little heavier, but I've had mine down as low as 2023 with just enough fuel for 3-6 competition runs.

Is that a pic of Katianna, Mako??? She's a cutie! The world needs more attractive women that can drive the wheels off cars! I get tired of looking at Mako and Jason....
