Sometimes we forget that not everyone can access the private SCNAX area.

I can't imagine a junior kart in a major region like CalClub or SDR taking TTOD.

Fast drivers in FJA like Jon Clements wouldn't slow anything down, but for most others its does slow things a bit. But so does wiping out the course or one of those finicky prep and mod cars oiling down the course. Never seen an FJ do either.

Part of the appeal of grassroots SCCA solo is that its something a whole family can do together. Where else you going to get that opp? I think that alone balances out any negatives. I don't like red cars, or idiots, or 350Z's. I don't like cars on slicks than run slower than my ST car on streets. But I tolerate them. Now they can tolerate my kid... Or at least when he's 8.

Everyone that enters slows the event down.

Um, so Warren, you agree that the concept that a Jr. kart might take TTOD away from somebody is a decent summation?
......just curious
No, I don't think TTOD is a realistic expectation. And I am sure the opponents also don't expect FJ125 to achieve TTOD. If they thought for one moment Juniors could reach TTOD they would try to exclude them like they did F125.

But I have no doubt that at least some of the objection to Juniors is that they will eventually PAX higher than the opponents. Let's be honest here, most of the opponents have declining skills. They never PAX higher than about 50-60 (or lower). Plus most no longer attend a lot of events, and autocross is a sport you have to work at. Sure, they have moved to vehicles that APPEAR fast, but really they are not all that fast. Their egos have built up the premise that autocross is 'hard', women and children need not even try. Then a nine year old girl runs and shows that premise to be false, not by achieving TTOD, but by making it around without a DNF, and actually appearing on the PAX list right next to them.

Then that nine year old grows up and becomes Christine Berry. Heads explode.

A National level FJA driver should be able to PAX in the top 10-20, as should any other top National level driver. But I agree it's not likely they could ever get TTOD. Those whiners in prep and mod cars that get beat by an FJ kart, PAX or raw time, just means to me they are crappy drivers or have under prepped cars.

Fear Mark, simple fear. We are all, in the end, cowards.
