I was just messing with Max. Don't worry. I won't be entering a GRA practice in this lifetime, or next, or the one after that.

Well given Karmic Laws, aren't the next two lives schedule something like: next life a blade of grass, and after that a Democrat?

As long as it isn't blade of grass in a dog park.

Jeez Steve. Get over it! Life is too short. You would think GRA are a bunch of liberals or something? }:)

That's usually posted about a week before the event or when it fills up if that's sooner.

Even if you can't get into this practice, please DO come out and race with us on Sunday. Three race runs plus you can sign up for 3 more "X Runs," without having to work a 2nd shift. Remember to take advantage of our Instructors. The Instructor can drive your first lap without it counting against your three race runs. S/he can also ride with you during your runs.
There might be Fun Runs at the end of the day if there is time. Fun Runners must help with Clean Up.

Mike, I realize this is California, but the secret is that most people take the winter off from racing, not the summer.

Sorry guys, but I'm new to CSCC and I'm slightly confused... Is this event only for GRA members? I don't see anything in the Championship flyer regarding GRA membership, but I have read that you must be a GRA member (or a friend of one) to run in the practice event the preceding day.
Please help

The championship (Sunday) is open to anyone. Just follow the link and register. The practice is the limited access event which is typical.

FYI: Championships are always open to anyone, regardless if they're a member of a club or not. And, as a matter of fact, our "racing" is actually set-up for someone new to come out and do a Champ. (don't let that word scare you!) rather than a practice. You can get, and should ask for, an instructor during a champ. - not so easy to get that at a practice.
Come on out!!!!

Just to be clear, the GRA practice is open to all, however priority is given to GRA members and invited guests. The remaining slots will be filled by from a waiting list of CSCC members. My suggestion is if your not on the guest list and have not sent a check, get one in the mail right away as you may be selected from the standby list.
This from the flier:
Check out the message board on solo2.com for your registration conformation. There will be two lists. The first list is for GRA members and their friends. The second is a waiting list of CSCC members who will be listed in the order that their entries are received, according to the postmark . On October 15th, if there are less than 80 people on the GRA members and friends list, we will fill the remaining spots from the second/waiting list. If you have to cancel and we are able to fill your spot, we’ll destroy your check.
I know the lists have yet to appear, but they will eventually. I don't have any inside information, just clarifying what's been posted.

Okay, sounds good; I will plan to be there for the Championship event. Quick question - what's different about a Championship event compared to a practice event? I've been to a practice event, where we just do runs all day... How many runs can we expect at a Championship event? What is the day like?

Ah, thank you for that, Aaron. I read through the FAQ on the CSCC site, but didn't think to read the FAQ on the forum, too... Turns out they're very different.
Anyway, hoping to be there bright and early on the 24th. Get my car classed/teched, walk the course, work/run, do X runs, hopefully get in a couple fun runs, and help clean up

Sounds like a day.

Don't forget to take advantage of the instructor "program" Leonard Cachola & Lily Liu are in charge of the Novices - look for them - best to ask for an instructor during the Driver's mtg.

Message from Brian at AAA
On Sunday, October 24th we will be hosting a festival for Cardenas Markets in our FanZone. We expect a high volume of traffic entering Gate 1 to access the festival. To provide access to your event, and bypass the traffic jam at Gate 1, please have your participants enter via Gate 6 on San Bernardino Rd/Fourth St. This is for Sunday, October 24th only. Gate 6 will be open at 6am. I’ve attached a map for your use.

Not to mention the significantly crappier road leading up to the gate. Lowered cars beware!
Fortunately, I come in an SUV now, hee hee.

If I recall, San Bernardino Road was being repaved last time I drove it. The work should have been completed by now. And yes......it definitely needed it.
